Villa Piedimonte

If I could give Villa Piedimonte more than a five-star review I would! It is a wonderful home base to explore the Amalfi Coast. The views of the Gulf of Salerno throughout the property are stunning!   A gate separates Villa Piedimonte’s property from the street. It is necessary to buzz from the gate to the front desk; and the gate will be opened. The on-site parking, with its protected covering, is helpful for guests with a vehicle, as we were. The front-desk staff is helpful and nice. We became friendly with the chambermaids (always a good practice), who were eager to chat, wanting to know what we were up to on any given day. Breakfast, served buffet style, is plentiful, with a variety of choices from cereals to fruit to meats to yogurt to pastries and more. The breakfast staff is pleasant and efficient. Arrive early for one of only four tables on the two balconies of the breakfast room.   The rooms are scattered around the property on several levels, and accessed by several sets of steps. Room #603, ours, is comfortable, clean, and well appointed. We got a good night’s sleep! The bathroom is spacious. The balcony with the view of the Gulf of Salerno is a joy to return to after playing tourist all day! I highly recommend Villa Piedimonte!   The sweet town of Ravello is a short walk from Villa Piedimonte, which will also provide its car service for guests unable to walk the short, uphill distance to the town. Good restaurants abound throughout the town. Be certain to visit the town’s highlights: the gardens at Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. They are lovely!
