53 reviewsWe stayed a week in one of the new rooms of this small hotel. It was a big and absolutely beautiful room in a modern style with an excellent bed and a great bathroom. They have two buildings next to each other. The new one with the bar and one where the restaurant is and the more tranditional alpin style rooms. It is a family owned place and the onwers are very friendly and really care about there guests. They know everything about the surroundings and where to go for the best hikes. Once a week there is a free guided hike from the hotel and also a schnaps tasting. They serve good food. Don't expect michelin star plates but it is good honest food with some excellent house specials like the ravioli with deer. Here also is the service great and the wines they serve are very good at a decent price. At all, this is a gem in the Merano surroundings. It is hard to choose wih all the available hotels but for sure I will stay in Hotel Die Sonne next time I am in the Merano neighbourhood.
