Attended one of the Longford Arms Christmas party nights recently & it was very enjoyable. Lisa & her team are very helpful & pleasant to deal with. Food was delicious, hot & served promptly.  Table settings & entrance to the ballroom is decorative for the Christmas party season. Our group were just over 60 people & everyone raved about the food, venue & roomy dance floor! Bar staff were accommodating & pleasant. Would recommend the Longford Arms Hotel for an enjoyable evening out.

   We were here back in 2018. Met some of the Farrell Clan here for drinks. The hotel was undergoing some change in management and was not up to par per the locals. This hotel has 58 rooms, restaurant & bar, full spa facilities, and can accommodate small groups or up to 700 people for conferences'. 
   Well things have certainly turned around in 2022. This evening was the finale of the 2022 Farrell Clan Rally. And the hotel staff did their part for this excellent event. This was a five hour affair for 100 people & the band. Speeches, toasts. presentations, dinner, & music were the order of the evening.
   Dinner was three starters: beet salad, bacon & cheddar croquette, and my personal favorite - king prawn & chorizo risotto. Food choices in Ireland have made a quantum leap since our first visit here in 2006. Innovative and eclectic.
   Then came a good vegetable soup. Main course choices were: chicken bacon croquettes w/ chasseur sauce, roast sirloin of beef w/ gravy, and broiled Irish hake w/ chive veloute. Served w/ mashed & roasted potatoes, & steamed vegetables. Every dish was delivered to the tables correctly, hot, & delicious. Again a great job by the staff.
   Dessert was a choice of apple crumble & ice cream. Sherry trifle w/ cream, & toffee pudding w/ ice cream.
   Note: we were here just for this event so no hotel room review.

Walked in today to the Arms Hotel for a lunch. I really like the atmosphere over there and it is really cozy. I like the place. In the restaurant everything is shining and on top level, food was fresh and yami, thanks guys and well done🤘

Stayed here 2 nights last weekend September 2019 along with 11 other couples from our classic car club. We booked in late afternoon having had a very pleasant run to Longford.
From the start we were welcomed by the reception staff who got us sorted out very efficiently and we settled in to very well appointed rooms, very spacious and clean.  Rooms and corridors were luxuriously carpeted and quiet and the bar / lounge was quickly visited which everything we could have wanted, comfortable, pleasant and good service. We dined out Friday night, at Take 2, down the street and the food was great as was the crack.
Breakfast next morning and Sunday morning was top class. Everything on offer, yogurts, cereals, fruit, follower by excellently cooked full Irish. Excellent all round. 
Saturday we took a short drive over to the famine museum at Strokestown House where we had  a lovely and moving experience with god food available. We dribbled back to Longford for some afternoon shopping in this well shopped town. 
Saturday evening we sat down to a group meal in the hotel. This is always a highlight point in our weekend and we weren't to be disappointed. Choice was good  and when we shortly got tucked into the starters the talk was going round the table about how good the quality was and the plentiful quantities on everyone's plate. Impressive start, but it got better when the mains arrived. Everyone was gobsmacked with the top class quality, the presentation on every plate, the beautifully cooked vegetables and chips, everything hot and just delicious. This was 5 star quality without a doubt and not a complaint, not even a grumble and the crack got better and better. And the desserts followed, beautiful, tasty, no frozen and thawed stuff, all forest prepared food throughout. Finishing with tea or coffee everyone simply agreed that this was the best meal they had ever experienced. We were full up, awed by the experience and we retired to the bar for some more crack. Well done the staff, and  full marks for the chef. He or she pulled off a wonderful meal and one will never be forgotten. The all deserved the generous tip we gathered up. Well done.
Sunday we diddled up the road to Dromod, Cavan & Leitrin Railway museum. Again, Longford proved to be a lovely central location with good attractions in abundance all nearby. 
We headed homeward and everyone well satisfied but mostly everyone was full of compliments for the stay in Longford Arms Hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my mum.  Receptionist was very friendly and helpful.  We were moved after our room was pointed out as unsuitable (couldn’t turn heating down, phone not working, no iron).  Breakfast was superb! Staff were very friendly and efficient.  Great gym and swimming pool, will most certainly be back as good value too :)

After seeing multiple miserable reviews with people complaining, I was genuinely nervous as our trip approached, expecting staff to ignore me, rooms to have mould on mould and all round have a terrible experience.

Delighted to say it was the complete opposite. 

Staff were happy and helpful, new carpets were being laid as we walked to our room and the room was fresh and comfortable. 

I’ve paid much more for worse quality and standards here in Ireland, this was lovely. 

Only points lost were due to the bathroom still looking like its in the 90s with the floral tiles and step in bath but bed / room was super, great sleep. 

Use of the leisure centre and spa an added bonus, breakfast was great.

Great hotel for Royal Canal Greenway.  Comfy sheets and large room, great staff. Very happy to store bike securely and good value food.  Took 1710 from Connolly Station to Longford for 1900hs, in room by 1720hrs. Breakfast from 0730 for a good start on 120km to Kilcock by 1600hrs.  

While in the hotel I decided to have lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel have embraced all the protocols regarding the pandemic regulations. I was requested to sign in and directed to a seat by a very polite staff member  and the menu was offered , the menu was varied with many lunch options,my order was taken quiet quickly. When my lunch arrived it was covered with a plastic plate cover and when the staff removed it my lunch looked delicious and it was , the food was well presented, hot  and plentiful. The staff checked by occasionally. The bar area where I was seated was free of any clutter well kept , extremely clean and well polished. The staff were extremely polite, very efficient and kept the bar area very . In light of the pandemic I felt the hotel went beyond the regulations offering a very safe environment and I will definitely will be back 

I was worried after reading reviews but the lunch was great. Selection was good. Desert selection good. We called in to watch the rugby World Cup. Bar area was open and inviting. Staff were friendly and attentive. 

Stayed here last night the check-in was fine was given room 17,hotel needs a little work the corridor to my room was very creaky room could be set up better eg position keetle beside socket, shower was ok not much hot water shower tray was lethal when in use very slippy and bathroom door has not locks on it,bed was very comfortable but the room was uncomfortably warm which ment having to have the window open but there is an extractor fan for the kitchen right outside the window. The girl sam on the reception desk was super friendly,breakfast was nice and i would stay again

Saturday lunch 

I am a frequent user with my husband every year at the hotel.
In October I spent a few more nights at the hotel that I love, as it is a fantastic hotel, from the rooms to the food.
I only have one objection to make.
I know most employees are new people, but they need to pay more attention to their hormones.
It's regrettable on the way down to the entrance to catch the doorman and supposedly the receptionist hugging and kissing, like two crazy people.
I've been through that age, but we have to have a little respect.
Nothing bad to add about the hotel.

Good hotel

You need to check beer prices before you order  and don’t listen to BS From the manager. Peroni wasn’t that good and the Chardonnay tasted like white wine get a grip and stop ripping people off your not anything special your a village pub.Food and beer very expensive for village pub. Wont be back looking for a different pub for the rest of our holiday.
Pub very nice and staff pleasant.

I stayed here for 1 night with my son. Firstly, the car park is enclosed with an automatic gate, which is a definite plus as it provides added safety. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, which was handy as we had to change rooms. We were given room 217, which was fine except that the window openers had no handles and were not sitting in the window properly and permanently open. We were given room 216 which was better but I presume the windows are single glaze as the noise from outside did not seem lessened in any way. The curtains have so many additional rings on the pole that they cannot close over tightly. The beds were comfy and warm and the televisions are modern and my son had great enjoyment watching YouTube via the TV. Breakfast was lovely and a real highlight.

Overall £77 is not much for bed and breakfast for 2, with some investment the hotel has the potential to be really nice. Unfortunately there is no lift either.

Some good, some bad

Best thing about stay was the staff, all really friendly and helpful. Rooms modern, airy and bright. 

Dinner was only ok, breakfast was nice. 

Small details (that would cost little to fix) let it down, lack of staff on reception so phone usually goes unanswered, in automatic email correspondance bill in pound sign not euro, form for ordering breakfast to room only space for ordering one breakfast, had to ring reception on the morning to clarify what we wanted, no table in room for eating breakfast, had to eat lying on the bed, no shower cap in bathroom. Pity about the small annoying shortcomings because overall it's a nice place. 


Mediocre

Sorry think this hotel is one overpriced and two very tired and some of their staff could do with learning how to respect their guests .
Phoned up and agreed £110 on the phone yet they charged me £116 they also offer you the option to pay by card in either € or £s but don’t tell you it’s more expensive to pay in £s . 

Our room was big enough  but the room was very tired dated old looking . 

The lady who served our breakfast seemed totally put out that we went down for breakfast and offered 1 of everything when I asked for 2 Eggs she said well I’m not supposed to but I will despite my girlfriend being a vegetarian and not wanting the cooked breakfast option . 
We heard someone complaining to the bar man too . 

One bonus is the on-site Carpark , personally I think all hotels in Ireland are extremely overpriced compared to much better ones in England Scotland & Wales and I don’t get why .
