An excellent stay and perfect launch for our Wicklow walks then Wicklow Way. Paul Phelan is a superb and knowledgable Host with helpful  recommendations. Spacious and quiet room, excellent breakfast and pub! Be sure to inquire about his and his family's sport endeavors (see wall photos in Reception area.

Myself and my daughter age 12 were camping at Hidden Valley campsite (wonderful) when the torrential rain created a flood in our tent. I called the Meath Arms and I explained the situation to the owner, who had locked up the hotel and had gone home for the night. Well.. he said he wouldn't see us stuck, he came back and re-opened the hotel again for us and accommodated our dog as well ... WOW. Irish staycation style.. I really love the hotel, if you like quirky antique furniture as I do, you will love this place. The dining room is lovely, old style but very tastefully decorated. I look forward to coming back when I can enjoy the pub and the restaurant as well. Thanks guys, see you again. 

Aughrim was a delightful village.  Our host Deidre was welcoming and engaging.  Our room was spacious and there was assistance taking our luggage to the room.  The dinner best door at the Grainstore was excellent.  Breakfast ( including freshly made porridge) was generous and delicious.

2 couples stayed in the Meath Arms while attending a wedding in nearby Clonwilliam House.
The bedrooms were clean, very comfortable and traditional.   Breakfast was delicious served by friendly staff.  Lots of lovely walks nearby.  We really enjoyed our 2 nights in this lovely establishment many thanks.

We stayed in the Meath Arms while attending a wedding nearby. The hotel assisted us in arranging transport to the wedding while we were tight on time.

The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The bathroom looked recently renovated and pleasant.

Overall, the staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Loved our stay at the Meath Arms. The decor is fabulous, breakfast was delicious. 

The hosts were super accommodating and picked up and dropped off my friend and I from Ironbridge as we were hiking the Wicklow Way. This made things so much easier for us! 

The food in the restaurant was tasty and the staff was friendly. 

My only (minor) criticism was that the mattresses we had could probably do with being changed and the room wasn't as clean as other places we stayed along the way. The shower alone is worth going back for though!

Lovely visit to the neath arms great location and nice hotel very quaint very welcoming breakfast was great the dining room was warm and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and attentive.I would definitely like to return and have already recommended it to my daughter

The Meath Arms is a pub offering clean B & B accommodation.  The bar and breakfast room have an old world charm brought about by original furniture, artefacts, photographs and framed sports jerseys.  The beer in the bar is the near-universal Guinness/Smithwick/Hop House combo and it is not bad for all that.  The only real negative is that our upper-floor room had Velux windows set in to the roof, with no blinds or curtains.  This meant the room was flooded with light from 4 am in June when we visited, making it a bit harder than it might have been to get all our beauty sleep.  Lifts from and back to the Wicklow Way were much appreciated and included in the room rate.

A Step Back in Time

Stayed in the market suite room for two nights while we attended a friends wedding nearby. 

Parking is on the road. it’s not a suite, it’s a room with an ensuite. No telly, bathroom door had swollen so didn’t close properly & some tiles had been damaged along top of toilet area and price was as much as I’ve paid for hotels with way more facilities. 

Saying that though the breakfast was lovely! The staff were very nice and the room/area was clean. 

We weren’t too disappointed with our stay, but I’d probably stay somewhere else if I was in the area next time.

Same experience as a previous reviewer regarding failure to get an answer on the phone.
A loud fan in the ensuite all night.
Bed was too small for a double size.
We did not get a wink of sleep all night. Nobody to take a suitcase up a very steep stairs.
Nice breakfast & a very kind member of staff allowed us to park in her private driveway.

Unable to access the hotel & phone either not answered or mail box full of going to voicemail .
