If you are looking for an amazing hotel in County Wicklow, IrelandI highly recommend staying  at Valentina Lodge..Upon my arrival to this Bed&Breakfast I was made feel very Welcome. When I arrived I was immediately taken care of by the owner Deirdre. The Bed&Breakfast is centrally located Arklow.! If you want breakfast make sure you let the Deirdre know the night before. As stated in the above I was made feel very Welcome. It should be noted I served all the World with the U.S.Marines and lived in the United States of America for over thirty years. I definitely know a great Bed&Breakfast from my travels and life experiences . I definitely will stay at this amazing Bed&Breakfast in the near future again. It is very close to many restaurants, cafe’s and the bridge water Shopping Center. Valentina Lodge rates Five Stars and more! you definitely won’t be disappointed.

A must stay in Arklow, County Wickow, Ireland.

I stayed here for a week while house hunting in the area. Deirdre was very friendly and welcoming, and happy to recommend things to do and see locally as well as great places to eat! My room and its en-suite were very clean, and I was welcome to use the sitting area to work and research during the day (the WiFi is free, and worked without problem throughout the building). Breakfast was not included (you can order an uncooked breakfast for a small additional fee), but it's only a short walk to the excellent Blue Cafe who do an excellent full Irish. The town of Arklow is a short walk away, but a car is essential to visit many of the other attractions in the area.

I'll definitely be recommending Valentia House to friends. Thanks for a great stay Deirdre!

Clean and characterful with a friendly host

We have stayed in Valentia House on several occasions in the past, and decided to return for the June Bank Holiday. Our en-suite room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable.  Deirdre remembered us from our previous visits, and was as welcoming as always.  It is only a short walk to the main street and although breakfast is not included, The Blue Cafe does wonderful breakfasts for a very reasonable price, so that is the place to go for your cooked breakfast.   Christy's recommended for evening meal, and there is also a very good Asian Restaurant nearby.

Return visit after many years

Was very let down,the pictures on the website are misleading,our bathroom was once a wardrobe,bruised arms from getting into and out of bathroom,room was cold,tv stations do not work,wifi is non existent,conservatory was full of clutter and smelled of the cat that was in and out,kettle was black inside,two small sachets of milk,felt very welcoming,toilet wouldn't flush,and the tiny shower kept filling up with water...wouldn't recommend to friends

I booked 2 rooms online for a one night stay with some misgivings after reading the reviews of this accommodation on here. However, I was very pleased with the accommodation and it suited our needs. 
The property was easy to find with a clear sign roadside. Deirdre was very flexible with our arrival time and was welcoming, friendly and helpful with local knowledge. 
The property is her home and is quirkily furnished which we found most interesting. Free car parking is available but space is limited at the front of the house.
The bedrooms were on the small side but each had small clean ensuites with showers and fresh towels provided. The bed was very comfortable and both rooms had tea and coffee making facilities with good sized mugs. There was a TV in each room which we didn't use. 
We paid in cash but credit cards are also accepted. Breakfast is NOT provided which was not an issue for us. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced bed for the night I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Surprisingly good!!

Upon arrival in the lashing of rain I had to wait outside until the host figured out which booking we were, altho there's only six rooms. After we found our room we were in formed that "for that price breakfast wouldn't be included". This is advertised as a B&B, no where on our booking were we informed that we wouldn't have breakfast. The sheets were dirty, there was no soap in the shower and the pillows were rock solid, with one not even having a pillow case. Dry, quiet and only a short walk into Arklow, is about the only positive about this place.
