180 reviewsThe Buma Aditya is a hotel in the centre of Sengigi but 200 metres off the main road and next to a village and Mosque. The Hotel is on a hill and offers moderate size rooms with good but not excellent facilities. The gardens are well maintained, but the restaurant was damaged in the August 2018 earthquake and is currently not open. They do serve an excellent breakfast. Bearing in mind that this is a budget hotel, the overall value is excellent, made more so by genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Also, the local villagers are friendly and you rarely are bothered by anyone trying to sell you things. There is no traffic noise, so for the most part this is quiet accommodation, but there is a mosque very close by with a call to prayer every few hours and the occasional festival. This may be bothersome to some but I found it relaxing and the whole atmosphere a genuine cultural experience.
