Kubu Soca Villa

I have given this villa 5 stars because I think the overall package completely deserves it. The villas are situated down a bumpy dirt track in a local community over looking a wonderful view with a sunset that we couldn’t stop looking at every night! The staff are some of the loveliest most accommodating people we met, one afternoon they even gave us a lift into the centre of ubud on the back of their bikes! If you walk out of the villa down the dirt track and turn left at the end of the road you will come across shops and restaurants and the further you walk the more options there are (just watch the holes in the pavements and roads!!) We stayed in 2 locations while in Bali and the breakfast here far outweighed the other location with crispy bacon and tasty eggs and a selection of fruit bought to your villa every morning by a smiling face which was lovely to see! Now here comes the tricky part because this isn’t a moan but more an observation and i don’t want to put people looking at booking these villas off but the villas themselves are a little tired in places. Heavy rain one afternoon revealed a leak (a small one) in our bedroom, there was also water damage on the ceiling in our little kitchen area and generally it needed a bit of a paint and a good scrub. I want to make it clear that this is in NO WAY a reflection on the staff that work there they do the best with what they have but the owner is building a new villa at the front of the property when the existing ones need some attention first! So this would be my message to anyone looking to book: we had an AMAZING time in Ubud and it was by far the favourite part of our trip. The villas are lovely and the view from the balcony is just wow. I would 100% book to stay here again, I wouldn’t need to look anywhere else but I would say to the owner that he or she needs to maintain their properties a bit before there are bigger problems!
