I haven't dived regularly for more than 20 years and my last dive was 15 years ago. Terry took me on a refresher course and went through all the skills with me again,  giving me great tips on addressing issues such as mask-clearing etc and making sure I was ready/confident to go into the waters again. For the 3 days I was diving, Terry paired me up with his Dive guides Jeff and Mickey who were great as they showed me great stuff in the reef/amongst the corals and constantly made sure I was ok. 

The room was clean and comfortable (no mosquitos) and the food ample and delicious (Indonesian) . But don't expect this to be a luxury resort which Seabreeze does not claim to be.  Service is good,  fast and friendly - transfer arrangement between airport and the resort was all arranged by Terry and very smooth. Terry is also a very friendly chap who tells great stories during meal times. On the day of my departure from the island, the ferry service was disrupted due to waves at Manado marina but Terry was able to arrange for the boat to drop me at another part of Manado and arrange land transport from there. 

Will definitely stay/dive with them again if I go back to Manado!

Great diving and friendly/helpful staff

Right from the get go, Terry answered all my questions quickly and in detail and made arrangements for our smooth transfer from the mainland to Bunaken. 
We stayed for 5 nights and did 12 dives. The corals  are amazing at any depth and we saw at least 10 turtles on every dive! We did not have to lift a finger to do anything at all except jump into the water when the guides told us to. The crew ensured that the sites were appropriate for everyone's skill level and worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best possible time. 
We had 3 delicious meals every day. Do request for the sambal if you like spicy food! If you're lucky, you may even get serenaded by Jeff and Mickey, who are excellent dive guides AND musicians. 
At the end of my stay, Terry even arranged for the captain of the public ferry to escort me to the pier for journey back to Manado. 
Great diving, great food, great staff and great company - I would gladly dive again with Bunaken Divers!

1 full week

Four of us travelled to Bunaken between 21 Sep - 25 Sep for our diving trip and stayed at Sea Breeze Dive Resort. Just like as its advertised, no fancy stars , just a dive resort with a super friendly atmosphere. 

If you are looking for a 5 star environment, look elsewhere. If you are looking to immersed yourself in the local culture, with a great host supported by friendly staff, this is the place to be.

I took my Advanced Water course with Terry and he has been extremely patience and knowledgeable. No fancy trick on teaching you how to blow bubbles under the water etc, but focusing on the fundamental skill set required for this course. 

Terry has also shared stories of his diving experiences and life stories, and we came to learn to respect the sea and see the sea animals in a different light. 

A special shoutout to Dampsy (our dive instructor) and the friendly crew for being patient with our request throughout the trip. 

Prior to the trip, we were made known to all cost involved and true to it, there was not a hidden charges when we settled the bills at the end of the trip. 

I strongly recommend for individual/group divers with an open heart/mind to visit this dive resort. You will enjoy your stay here.

Valued for Money

We stayed 4 days in sea breeze as my girlfriend expected to do the open water course.. 
We were lucky to meet really nice travellers there .. but everyone of them agreed with those fact :
The local staff is nice. 
The food is nice.
But
The price are ridiculously high for the room and extra are hidden.. in the end you always pay more ... it look like every single rupiah does count don't wait for any gift from them.. 
The boss is smart but it seems he forgot his first step in diving .. the 2 girls he had in his course were terrified, he has no patience with the exercises and turned into angry many times ... 
I am sure he his a good guy but it would be nice if he opened his mind and become more relax.
Last thing is that I feel they denied the other nice stuff in the island and they want to keep the customers in the resort and you might miss the real bunaken 
My best day in this island has been with the local people for sure 
I am sure it's easy to find better places !
At the end they asked us for tips for the personnal and they really deserve it for sure but the boss took us already hips of ruppiah so we couldnt help them
It sound like a revenge but its not i just want them to realise that they have a great tool to do better !

Worst value for this resort

Welcome to the island of nort Sulawesi, enjoyable family trip on the island of Bunaken. The place is beautiful, the diving spot is good, the locals are friendly. Must be visited by tourist when visiting Nort Sulawesi🏝🏝🏝

Family trip

Honestly don't have enough good things to say about this place. The owners Terry and Dee are just lovely and extremely experienced and knowledgeable about the area. Dive instructor Chris was great and our dive guide Demsey knew all there was to know about the area. Food is good too. Love its down to earth rustic atmosphere and the diving is excellent. Cant wait to go back!

We spent 2 nights in Seabreeze after a long time seacrhing for hotel in Bunaken island

1. Food
The food is served 3 times a day, each meal consisting of rice, meat and vegs and served in a buffet style. Although the food might look spicy it is not spicy at all. Beer and drinks is nice and cold.

2. Room
The bungalow is a rustic and simple area. The outdoor porch is a very nice hangout area especially during the mornings. The showers are partially outdoor and the water for the shower is saltwater. Freshwater comes in a bucket and u need to ask them. Hot water comes at an extra cost but since the sun is scorching when we're there, there is no point since water is already hot. Bed is nice and big. No ac but there is a fan

3. Host 
Terry is a very friendly aussie guy and i really think he knows the area better then some locals. All the staff is very welcoming and it creates than home away from home feels.

4. Beach and restaurant
There is a private beach near the dive center. High tides are the best time to hangout there since u need to walk about 50 meters during low tide to get to the water from the beach. The restaurant is a nice wooden building with tea and coffee making facilities, lots of table and a bar. Wifi is available but you can't watch online vids and downloading is also not allowed.
6 dogs are around including one that always go around each guest to get food (which he always fail to get). 

5. Water activities
We didn't went diving but the snorkeling equipment is brilliant and nicely maintain. 



Great location, friendly host, tasty food

We stayed in one of the bungalows for a couple of nights. The rooms are very basic, hot water comes at extra cost, shower is with salt water and fresh water is in a bucket for rinsing. Electricity only a few hours a day, so no fan during off times. Given that, the room was not cheap.
The owner Terry was very nice - and the other diving instructor was also great.
We went diving and snorkeling and the area is great for that- we did an intro dive and felt very well taken care of by our instructor (can't remember the name). Apart from that not much to do, there isn't a proper beach near the hotel.
Meals were served as buffet, simple but good food. 
Several dogs around in case that is an issue for you, including one with fleas at the time..
Bottom line is this is a very basic place, good as a basis for diving. Not much comfort to be found here. I don't know how it compares with other accommodation options on Bunaken. 

Spartan spot for divers

If you want pure luxury, probably look somewhere else. If you are a true and tough diver a sea lover and a simple person, do not look any further. Terry and staff are friendly, helpful and flexible. Whoever rates this place badly, either has traveled only a few times out of their country, dives 10 times a year or is used to something I am not. This is Indonesia, guys and you should know before leaving. A stroll away and you are immersed in the local culture, something I always tend to do while traveling. I have been diving for the past 23 years, am an experienced tech diver, have 900+  dives under my belt and can compare. Sorry.  I was in Bunaken for the first time exactly 20 years ago: sure I found differences, but this is one of the most pristine reefs the world can currently offer, provided we protect and respect it. Sea Breeze offers a comprehensive diving holiday at affordable prices. I do not think they claim to be top class, they deliver what they say, plain and simple. Having a bucket with fresh water is a problem? OMG, we have EVERYTHING for 50 weeks a year, why that?? People shall be brought here to understand the true values of simplicity and an easy life style. No night life? The world is huge, pick up your other destination, then. This is a place where you are fed with local food, DIVE and REST. The diving is outstanding, still encounters slightly differ from a long time ago, but absolutely never disappointing. Big plus for John, the local Instructor, who let me do what I felt more comfortable with :) and John..GO SIDEMOUNT!
I left a piece of my heart on the island, a ton of bubbles on the spectacular reefs and half a ton of candies to local kids. THEY are the true attraction of the holiday. The locals. The only regret, not being able to dive with Terry due to his injury: recover soon and take care of yourself my friend. Please.
