PROS - The whole hotel was presented fantastically and the rooms were well maintained and absolutely beautiful. The views from our room were amazing. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both days we were there, and the meals were great. The location was great, close to the airport and the major shopping areas. We went to Balikpapan, because my grandfather was wounded there in WWII, so we has a list of military sites we specifically see. We tried to arrange a driver to take us to these places, but had trouble finding a company who spoke English. We asked the staff at reception and they arranged for one of their own shuttle drivers to take us around. CONS - Our electronic room cards kept malfunctioning, so we spent a lot of time going up and down to reception to get into our room. Apparently the card system has difficulty understanding people staying more than one night. The staff's English was limited and we often had to wait until a certian person was working before we could get someone to understand what we were asking.
