Great place to visit.stay here and feel the beauty of nature surrounded by the beautiful himalay.
People here are good in nature and cooperative.and keep the place neat and clean. You should avoid to use polythene bag here.

It is great place to visit .Feel the beauty of nature.

Located in the tiny, remote, but picturesque village of Lachung, Tenzing Retreat is a suitable inn for a person on transit. The room was large. The geyser was working perfectly well, given that it was a very cold place, even in October. The beds and sheets were not spotless. It was even torn in a few places. Food takes an eternity to arrive. But they actually cook every piece of their limited menu after you order. One wonders if they go to shop after you order. So, its freshly cooked for you. The hotel compound could do with a bit more lighting. The morning view of the mountains is breathtaking.

Beautiful view, average food

Tenzing retreat is a nice place to stay in Lachung. They offer you large rooms with a clean attached bathroom. The staff are very cooperative. The rooms are well maintained and the rooms at the front side of the hotel give you a glimpse of ice covered peaks early in the morning from the bed itself. Only not so good part is the food because you don't get much variety over there because of scarce supply of raw materials like bread, chicken and egg. However, you will be provided the basic minimum support, good enough to fill your stomach, even if not satisying your taste buds. Overall this hotel is good for an overnight stay at such a remote place.

The worst stay one can ever have.
1.Lacks basic cleanliness
2.room was beside sewage and stinked all night
3.Unclean blankets
4.Washroom was terrible & wasnt even cleaned before room was given to us.We had to argue with the acting Manager to get those cleaned.
5.The reception had no manager to reach out to.The acting manager had no ways to reach out the manager when we asked to contact him.
6.Tv had no set top box,the plugs were out.
7.No wifi at all.
8.Very rude staff. Constantly argued about things he can not do.
Please think twice before making the booking for this one!

And when you reach out to the owners about the misery, they accuse you of falsification & misinterpretation!

Pathetic Service!

We stayed at Tenzing Retreat - Lachung on 29th April 2019. This hotel does not fit in the category of a star rating as the conditions are not fit for human use. Below is our experience. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you do not want to have a similar experience like us.

1. Unhygienic conditions - We were allotted rooms 103 and 104 (we paid around 6000 INR for the two rooms). There were open sewage lines passing beside the rooms and also behind the washrooms. The filthy stink had left two persons severely ill. There were spiders inside the rooms and dogs were freely roaming around just outside the rooms.
2. The room carpets were torn at multiple places and there were deep black spots on them, it looked like they have not been cleaned for months.
3. Bed sheets provided were not clean, we were given smelly blankets, towels provided to us were wet and had marks of blood and black patches on them. It seemed like all of the items provided to us were already used and were not cleaned.
4. The washrooms were smelly and dirty. They were not cleaned prior to our check in. After requesting the hotel staff, they cleaned it but even after that, the state of the washrooms remained deplorable. 
5. The was no WIFI and TV connection (TV sets with no connection) as was stated in the hotel description during our booking.
6. Impolite and rude staff : Last but not the least, just wanted to highlight the behaviour of the hotel staff. They were adamant and not willing to understand our concerns. There was no active manager at the hotel as he was apparently in Gangtok. We wanted to talk to him but we were told that his phone was not reachable. The hotel was being run by 3 or 4 staff members including the chef. We received a similar feedback from other guests staying at the property as well.
