This great waterfront Rubane  island Resort is a paradise. Breakfast is a Buffet with coffee, portuguese juices and made to order egg and omelet station, pastries and yogurt. The full bar is not included in the inclusive meals plan of breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner.  
You can chose from several
options for appetizer, main and dessert prepared by The French Chef. Options include grilled fish, seafood, dishes and pasta and meat and lamb. Our group preferred the shrimp preparations and stuffed crab. The captain fish, ,ceviche,  various skewer preparations are excellent. Selects from Desserts like lava cake, ice cream, flan, mousses, and  our favorite cannon ball with sweet stuff finside a large dark chocolate ball. Excellent. Presentation. The full bar offers cocktails, wines, and beers.
Open air Dining settings  include 4. -6  person tables, and a larger group area on deck  with twinkling lights.

40 unique bungalows offer various  and layouts to accommodate single travelers, couples, families, and any size groups. Bathrooms offer a hot water walk in shower, own toilet, mosquito nets. Hard woods, reeds, and other  native highlight the decor in  cabinets and sitting area.  Each front porch is decorated with local wood carving.  Some porches are in shade and some in full sun. 
The central resort area includes an excursion shop, displays of local wood works and handicrafts for purchase.

Luxury in Rugged, Remote Paradise

DREAMY BEACH HOTEL - Ponta Anchac - Guinea Bissau

After some long bumpy dirt roads and interesting accommodations we 5 took a speed boat to the hotel lodge Pointa Anchac located on Bubaque Island in the archipelago of Biharis.  It is a classy beach paradise with a pool.  Our wooden bungalow was on the sand with a big umbrella - like thatched roof on the sand in front with lounge chairs under it at waters edge.  The ocean was warm as was the staff.  Wonderful meals with local fresh fish and huge shrimp was served at our white table clothed dining table on stilts over the sand and surf.  And yes, the best coldest beer ever! 😀!  If you want to relax on the beach in Guinea Bissau this is the place!

DREAMY BEACH HOTEL - Ponta Anchac - Guinea Bissau

I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough. Each room is its own beachfront bungalow, well equipped and comfortable -- nothing posh. Service is kind and accommodating. Cuisine is fresh and delicious. While many guests come for sport fishing and other activities, all I did was chill out. It was paradise.Language note: While I mostly managed with my schoolboy French and a few pleasantries in Portuguese, some staff speak English, including the cheerfully energetic proprietor, Solange. Overall, French is the primary language at this property.

A Slice of Paradise

Very nice hotel on the beach. Beautiful to spend holiday with the family. The owner Ms. Solange organize everything starting from the breakfast including lunch and dinner in a perfect way. She also give you opportunities to visit other isle or other type of sports like fishing or walking around the isle and visiting local market. 

Nice weekend 

We had a fabulous experience at this resort in the Bijagos. The grounds are gorgeous, full of all kinds of flowers, carefully tended. There is a vast stretch of beach, more than 1k, with usually shallow waters, bathtub temps even in winter, to wade, float, and swim. Staff try very hard kindly to accommodate every request, and the proprietress is relentlessly attentive. Individual huts with lovely bedding (the occasional inadvertent four legged intruder wants only to escape; this is the jungle) and nicely appointed indoor shower area, effective A/C. Nice food, especially fantastic breakfast array, with affordable rates that include meals; full bar available with purified-water ice. Boat excursions, fishing, and the like can be booked easily to explore the area.

Affordable paradise

After visiting the mainland GB, I was ready for a break. The hotel was an oasis. The owner and her team were AMAZING. They are problem solvers and make things happen. They delight in making people happy. I didn't want to leave. 

The hotel's room rate includes food since there is nowhere else to eat. The hotel dominates the island. I recommend taking the three-meal/day package and staying for as long as you can. The islands are beautiful. The rooms are exquisite. Anywhere else, the room rate would cost 4x the price at a minimum.

The food was delicious, all fresh and local. The lobster and shrimps were huge. You will never be hungry.

There isn't a ton to see, but if you see if the hotel can arrange a visit to the local village to see a performance. It is quite special. Visiting the other islands is also fascinating. 

The hotel can arrange your boat transfers, which I highly recommend to avoid cancellation. GB is not the most reliable country. I took the helicopter on the return, but I would skip unless you are in a hurry. The price is significantly more, and the pilot refused to show me an aerial view of the islands which the hotel promised. I was a bit annoyed since that was the whole reason I booked the flight and I was paying to transport someone else for a medical visit which I was happy to do.

WOW! Don't Miss!

I stayed at this resort for only 3 days and wished I had planned to stay longer. The island is absolutely breath taking, the bungalows were very clean and tidy, the food was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. The new manager Margarida was really nice too. The only downside was that we had to pay for all drinks including soft drinks and even water at a premium price apart from that I had a really amazing time.

Beautiful virgin islands

I enjoyed my stay in the Ponta Achaca. It is a well kept boutique resort on Rubane Island, a remote retreat, clearly the best on all Bissagos Archipelago. Bungalows are clean and spacious, food is great, pool and beach are clean and nice and the staff is professional and friendly. The fleet of boats allows to penetrate other islands of the archipelago and is useful for fishing. Solange manages her property very well and finds kind words to each client. I highly recommend this property for casual and adventure travelers.

the best accommodation on Bissagos Islands

The better on in Bijagos and also the most expensive. It worth all the money you pay for it. Its located in Rubane Island and has 21 bungalows. We stayed in the better one called "citah", with 2 rooms, a interior lobby and a exterior one with 4 sun beds! The only disadvantage is that you have to walk by all the beach to main building (reception, restaurant, pool bar...) The wi-fi only workson the reception area and sometimes is not strong enough. The Manager, Solange Morin (french) is always present controlling all the details and really doing all for you to feel at home! The excursions on the speed boats are very nice " Try to go to Sago Island, a true African experience normally not visited by the tourists. The food are good (maybe the breakfast could be better...no natural juices and few fruit) and with 3 options for starters, main course and dessert! Dont miss the Saturday night buffet ! Its one of the highlights of your experience when you can eat oysters, prawns, delicious fishes and better meats!! Some people come from other islands to dinner here on this day!  I will come back for sure !! :)))))

The paradise somewhere in African coast!

It was the end of the season and I was one of the very few guests. But even with all villas ocuppied I doubt it would be crowded. Luxury villas with all necesarry amenities (electricity, AC, hot water etc.) but at affordable price. Infinity swimming pool is one of the places to just unwind and chill. The other one being gorgeous and empty sand beach. 
And what to say about chef and his food? Just superb. You get several choices for each lunch and dinner (breakfast is buffet) and everything that arrived to my table was so yummy and fresh. 
This is a perfect place to just relax and recharge the batteries. Definitely a place to return to!
