Hotel PetenChel

This hotel was a wonderful place to stay after a long and tiring trip from Guatemala City in March, 2017. Road construction delayed the bus considerably, so that we ate lunch at the place we were to have supper, and supper was well after dark at Rio Dulce. It was midnight by the time we arrived at this lodge. The most disappointing down side of the trip was that during this long trip the guide put on a movie in the bus for us to watch. It was filled with foul language, obscenities and cursing. I asked for the film to be turned off. The guide refused. It spoiled our whole trip. I have asked Caravan for a statement of their policies for such things. They have simply said they leave things up to the guides they ire. the only problem with this response is that it was the Latin American supervisor for Caravan himself who recommended this film to the guide.
