Poseidon Apartments is a small, family-run hotel, set in a very quiet location with lovely views of the olive grove and the Agia Apostolii / Chrissi Akti area. It is only a 5-minute walk to the lovely Golden Beach and 5-7 minutes via the Olive Grove to the area with several restaurants. 

The host Christos is extremely friendly and accommodating. He provided drinking water ready for us, and is ready to meet most of the guests' requests. He comes to the hotel (almost) daily and opens the pool bar while he is there. The pool bar has nice selection and reasonable prices. 

The apartment suited us perfectly, there was nothing to complain about. Everything worked perfectly, good bed, nice bathroom and plenty of space both inside and out. 

The cleaning was absolutely perfect. Never have we had such good cleaning done by the kindest and sweetest housekeeper Anna. Your lovely personality brightened our days - even if we don't speak the same language. Many thanks to you, Anna.

We can definitely recommend this hotel for both short and longer stays. The hotel has no contract with any travel company and can be booked via booking.com and Airbnb or by contacting Christos directly. 

Did I mention that we stayed 33 nights in apartment A2?

Perfect place to stay

We stayed here for a couple of nights and found ourselves disappointed. 

We were staying in the area beforehand, and although we would be moving here we were not allowed to use the pool ahead of our stay. This is in contrast to many other Greek islands where people are very hospitable, especially as we always make a point to say we will buy food/drinks from the bar. 

When we did move here, we found that the bar actually isn’t open for more than an hour or two in the morning - so don’t stay here if you want a pool bar! The pool was clean and the views were lovely. The room was also clean which is great. 

Unfortunately, when we asked if we could leave our luggage in an area after checking out before heading to the airport, we were asked to pay €20. Even though there was no one who would have been using the room and in fact no staff member was around so it wasn’t like anyone was having to spend their time there because of this. 

With this, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend it either. It is also in a location that isn’t easy to get to, something worth considering if you can’t manage very steep hills.

Wouldn’t recommend - not very hospitable

Poseidon Apartments are a lovely place to stay. Christos was very welcoming and helpful, he gave us a map of the local area when we arrived and explained where everything was. Any request was quickly met, such as extra pillows,  a hair dryer and a new light bulb. The room was clean and comfortable, the kitchen is basic but sufficient to make breakfast and lunch. The pool is really clean, with plenty of sunbeds, and a pool bar from about 10 - 2. Some days we had the pool to ourselves. It's 0.28 mile to the nearest Restaurant via the Olive groves, with several other restaurants nearby, all of which had excellent food. We walked to Chania several times, about 2.5 miles to the centre along the seafront, there is a bus, but we prefer to walk.

We had a great time in Poseidon Apartments. The place is peaceful and the location fantastic for us and our children. Clean room and swimming pool , great hospitality , a place to come again.

Fantastic place

It's a nice little appartment hotel (about 11-12 studios and appartments). The rental prices according to what you get are very sharp.
It's at walking distance to the beach - shops - restaurants
If you don't have a car there is a busstop a 5' minutes with regular transfer to Chania.
The western part of Crete has so much more to offer than for insatnce the Chersonisos area.
Christos, the manager, has always time for a chat and his advice was more than welcome.
