Irene Apartments - Acharavi

Ignore whinging reviewers this place is absolutely lovely! We’re here now & have been to Irene’s 11 times so far. Why do we come? The family who own the hotel are wonderful warm welcoming people in total, and Irene (who is the receptionist) is extremely kind. We come back time & again because of the “you are part of the family” feel that you get here. But they don’t tolerate rude disrespectful guests - why should they?!? There are 3 accommodation blocks but people who arrive after reception is closed may not know how to find their room if here for the first time. Let me help you with that. When you arrive from the airport, there are 2 signs for Irene’s, one each side of the road - the reception is down the steps in the building on your right. Leave your luggage & just walk down to check room number. Irene leaves a note on the door with your name & room number. If your room starts with a 2, you are in the block where the reception is, if the number starts with a 1, then you are in the block opposite (to the left of the road). If, however, your room starts with a 3, you are in the Wellness apartments and they are elsewhere. During the day you can walk through the pool area to the Wellness block, but if you arrive after about 7pm, the pool area is locked, so you have to walk down the lane instead. To find the lane start from the road in front of reception & look right. You’ll see Alex’s Supermarket right next to Irene’s and then GeeBees further along. Walk toward GeeBees. When you get to the crossroads you’ll see Rolando’s car hire. To the left of Rolando’s is a lane. You walk down the lane, over a small stream & up a slight incline. Turn left into the even smaller lane & you’ll see arched gates for the pool at the end. When you reach the pool gates, you’ll see the driveway up to the Irene Wellness Spot. It’s quick & easy when you know how ;) Please come & see for yourself. The spotlessly clean pool has stunning views of the surrounding hills and is set in pretty gardens. (When reception is closed, Greg at the bar can help you if you need anything). The rooms in blocks 1 & 2 are rustic but clean & serviceable. (Block 3 is a bit more posh). The vibe very relaxed & friendly and once you’ve been you’ll be back :) We can’t wait to book our next trip!!!
