I arrived when reception was closed there was a number to call and Irene came and escorted me to room in the green building to the left of the main block advising me I would only be there one night . Clean comfortable room 
I moved to room 105 not the prettiest location with no view and on main road. The noise did not bother me and was no late revellers either. If I were to come again I would book a better room and prob book independently .
The resort isn’t huge and the main beach is very stony and in places not very clean, I walked passed Black  Rocks cafe and most days had it to myself for a couple of hours but even then no more than a dozen people nice sandy beach safe for swimming and as a solo felt very safe,
The only annoying thing is the mozzies I have obviously experienced them before but even the locals complain they are relentless.
Also the WiFi isn’t great if that’s a priority for you

Ignore whinging reviewers this place is absolutely lovely! We’re here now & have been to Irene’s 11 times so far. Why do we come? The family who own the hotel are wonderful warm welcoming people in total, and Irene (who is the receptionist) is extremely kind. We come back time & again because of the “you are part of the family” feel that you get here. But they don’t tolerate rude disrespectful guests - why should they?!? There are 3 accommodation blocks but people who arrive after reception is closed may not know how to find their room if here for the first time. Let me help you with that. When you arrive from the airport, there are 2 signs for Irene’s, one each side of the road - the reception is down the steps in the building on your right. Leave your luggage & just walk down to check room number. Irene leaves a note on the door with your name & room number. If your room starts with a 2, you are in the block where the reception is, if the number starts with a 1, then you are in the block opposite (to the left of the road). If, however, your room starts with a 3, you are in the Wellness apartments and they are elsewhere. During the day you can walk through the pool area to the Wellness block, but if you arrive after about 7pm, the pool area is locked, so you have to walk down the lane instead. To find the lane start from the road in front of reception & look right. You’ll see Alex’s Supermarket right next to Irene’s and then GeeBees further along. Walk toward GeeBees. When you get to the crossroads you’ll see Rolando’s car hire. To the left of Rolando’s is a lane. You walk down the lane, over a small stream & up a slight incline. Turn left into the even smaller lane & you’ll see arched gates for the pool at the end. When you reach the pool gates, you’ll see the driveway up to the Irene Wellness Spot. It’s quick & easy when you know how ;) Please come & see for yourself. The spotlessly clean pool has stunning views of the surrounding hills and is set in pretty gardens. (When reception is closed, Greg at the bar can help you if you need anything). The rooms in blocks 1 & 2 are rustic but clean & serviceable. (Block 3 is a bit more posh). The vibe very relaxed & friendly and once you’ve been you’ll be back :) We can’t wait to book our next trip!!!

Wonderful gem of a place! Rustic charm at its best!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Irene’s and we will definitely be back again. 

This time we stayed in the deluxe studio apartments, which is next to the pool. 
The room was lovely and spacious, very clean and with a lovely large balcony area. 

We did have an issue with the toilet, the chain wouldn’t flush. We reported it to the owner and she very quickly got it sorted for us. 

The swimming is lovely!! All the staff there are really friendly and helpful. In the pool bar they were very good with our daughter, who is a fussy eater and drinker. They often made  her special drinks, looking like cocktails, to try and tempt her! 😅 Which did work! 

The food in the pool bar is also of a very high standard. We really enjoyed the BBQ Night and Pizza Night!

Another great holiday at Irene’s.

Irene herself is one of the rudest people I have ever met and completely ruined the start of our first family holiday.  We booked 2 studio apartments and requested ground floor as we had the pram and my grandmother couldn’t walk up steps. We asked for the apartments close together if possible. When we arrived there was a sheet of paper stuck to the window to greet us with our name and 1 apartment number, they gave us 1 apartment with 2 bedrooms when we payed for and booked 2 separate apartments. Also on the very top floor when we asked for ground floor. We had to lift the pram up 4 flights of stairs every day and night. When we tried to get this resolved Irene was so unbelievably rude , did not want to help whatsoever and has absolutely no people skills. This was not resolved we didn’t get what we booked or paid for and all had to share 1 apartment. The door does not lock from the inside so our toddler could easily open the door , when we said this to Irene she said to figure it out that it’s our job to mind the child not hers. She threw the key down on the counter and walked away from us. One of the main reasons we chose Greece is because the people are always so lovely and welcoming, we are still shocked at how nasty of a person she was. 

NEVER AGAIN!! Horrible owner and not safe at all for children

I cannot express how pleasantly surprised I was after reading some of the reviews here on TripAdvisor. 
Yes, the mattresses were very hard, the third bed in the studio was a chair bed with a mattress on it, we were on the street and it was noisy, but what a nice family who own it. Irene was very pleasant, Gregoris the barman, who looks like Antonia Banderas was always very polite. We went to the BBQ night and the pizza night, great value for money. The rooms are cleaned 6 days out of 7, towels changed every 3 days and bed linen once a week. Pool and bar spotless and the gardens by the wellness spot beautiful. I would certainly come again, but not in high season. Any questions please ask.

Pleasantly surprised.

Seems to me if your a regular visitor you are treated well at this establishment but otherwise it’s a horrible place to be . 
There’s too much to say in one review but I agree 100 % with everything I have read and wished I had taken heed  before booking. 
My room was damp and all my clothes smelt awful by the end of my holiday 
Reception is hardly ever open and when you ask for anything it’s always a no 
Asked to keep my room for an extra day as I had late flight but told no hotel is full
Can not use any shower facilities either 
Hotel rooms were available to book on sites so not sure what the problem was! 
My opinion this is an amazing resort and there are many beautiful places to stay 
Avoid at all cost

Mouldy damp room with a leaking toilet, thread bare towels and a very rude owner!

Having stayed at Irene's family run apartments many times both with my wife and family we can honestly say it always been a warm welcome with superb rooms, pool, with great food and cocktails at the poolside bar ....enjoy real Greek hospitality ...amazing ...Will be back soon 

Wonderful Greek stay 

I can only comment on my own experience.I have never in all the years of holidaying in Greece come across such a rude and unhelpful receptionist.I booked a superior apartment we were given a small dark claustrophobic room with the balcony on the main busy road through the village .my husband has a respiratory condition so I asked reception if it would be possible to have a room away from the road as the fumes affected my husband's breathing.she said didn't you read all the information of the property before you booked and what if I don't have a room.I replied yes I did and the information said that the apartments were set in beautiful gardens not on a main road .I was at no time rude or demanding.she did give us a different room which was crawling with mosquitos the bathroom had black mould which got worse over the 14 days we were there as there was no window even the toilet had mould.towels we're like bits of rag with holes and threadbare and only changed twice in 14 days and the bed was changed once.there was a big blood stain on the sheet i asked if it could be changed receptionist just looked at me said later and walked away.I could say more but  there is to much to put in this review.the resort is beautiful lovely people shop's taverna's and restaurants

Wellness apartments are different to the Irene apartments.

Can't understand these negative reviews we have just returned after a 10 day self catering holiday initially we got wrong room on 1st night (our fault not theirs) but it was all sorted the following day we stayed in the Irene Wellness Spot apartments and they were wonderful. We had 2 lovely cleaners who kept our room spotless and also the area round the pool. Gregory at the pool bar was lovely, polite and couldn't do enough for us nothing was too much bother for him. I also took the time to look round his dads fabulous vegetable garden and discuss this with Irene who again was lovely. I initially didn't really want to go after reading some of the negative reviews but  so glad we did on arrival we met a lovely couple from Blackpool who had been going for 17 years and who told us to ignore the reviews and make our own minds up because they were untrue and how right they were! So much so we are hoping to return end May early June 2023. We also had a couple of meals in the bar and couldn't fault them price was also very reasonable. Our rooms were kept clean, food was good, staff and owners were lovely what's not to like, a lovely holiday and nothing to complain about at all. We went out walking in the surrounding areas most days and even that was lovely so overall a fantastic holiday and WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Fabulous Holiday

I read reviews before booking this apartment and never will I take the word of a few reviews this is the most unhygienic poorly kept apartment ran by the rudest female with no compassion for families or children at all. Not only with the false advertising for a 7 day stay we received clean towels twice the cleaners or should I say cleaner re spread soiled bed sheets 4 days in a row my youngest has suffered bed bug bites from his broken poorly kept bed request a bed change and was told I complain and had the phone put down on me reception is only open 2 hours a day and if your doing excursions because they leave so early from the island you can never get there for any enquiries and these lot don't even reply to the merchants let alone a mother with children. Your not allowed to flush toilet paper down toilet in greece so almost everyday we waited hours for the soiled toilet paper to be removed from out of bathroom thank goodness we had things to do. They claimed we was in the deluxe apartments total fabrication if this was deluxe I dread to see what the other apartments were like. I met another lovely couple with almost the same complaints the manager does not how to deal with the public no customer care whatsoever so I do not know why they would be in this sort of industry I will be making a formal complaint as my son has bed bug bites and that's all due to there hygiene practices and her unwillingness to accommodate her paying guests because nothing was free. Even the poolside despite being self catering we weren't allowed to bring any snacks out for our children and she definitely made sure of that. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE ESPECIALLY FAMILIES
