29 reviewsThe stay was perfect due in great part to the wonderful hospitality of Frau and Herr Schnellmann. The hotel is lovely, clean, quiet, and peaceful. The rooms are very nice and the upgraded rooms are beautiful. Breakfast is delicious and varied. The price is excellent. The location, in a natural setting, is close to walking, hiking, and quite good restaurants. One might say there is nothing exceptional about it, that it provided a comfortable, peaceful stay, and that is true! However, the hosts make Haus am Hochwald much more than a "hotel" and made my stay absolutely the best! They are friendly, generous, and so attentive to the individual needs of each guest, that the entire atmosphere is one of a warm and homey Bed&Breakfast, with the all the amenities of a good hotel! I felt pampered and cared for, as they remembered all my preferences and catered to me with little details like always leaving a thermos of hot water in the evenings for my tea, digging up local guidebooks in English (my German is not so good), picking me up at the bus station, and even calling me in the evening after I'd been out all day to make sure I got in safely. They treated each guest with the same kindness ... and to me that makes it a place I would recommend to anyone and would happily return to! Thank you Frau and Herr Schnellmann! ...
