Very nice hotel at the Baden Baden train station. I mean really at the station, on platform 1, above Coffee Fellows. If you have been to Baden Baden you will know why this is helpful: the city is too far from the airport to take a walk, and the bus is only once an hour (takes 22 min) - taxis are 12 min but cost 30 euros against the 3.8 euro of the bus. Once you get from the bus to the Banhof, there’s the getting into town. There are several buses into Baden Baden town, for another 15 min. But imagine doing this in a hurry to get to the airport or catch a train? With suitcases and what not? 

I much prefer to stay at this little hotel, and then explore Baden Baden or catch a train to Strasbourg or Freiburg or Basel without worrying about my suitcase. The rooms aren’t luxurious but they are quite comfy, large, even with a bathtub, which is an unexpected pleasure. You need to make arrangements to access the rooms if arriving after 20:30pm or before 7am, so look out for an email. 

Staff were attentive and communicative, and for the price, the place is a proper find! Clean, but there were a few notable omissions (toilet had not been flushed since previous use, empty sanitary plastic bags and a light bulb missing); but none of these are fatal. If you are a light sleeper, the freight trains may bother you, so maybe get earplugs. I never heard them.

No working internet or tv however. And if you want to sleep with the window open, you'll have to endure the loud noises of trains passing by 4m away. 
About an hour walk from baden-baden center.  

Quick stop

Right at the train station for a day stop in Baden Baden. Right above the coffee shop, kind of simple, funky accommodations. The manager is incredibly helpful and friendly. A good choice for an inexpensive visit

Budget friendly

We stayed at this station hotel as we had an early morning train to catch to Heidelberg. After flying out from London and arriving at the hotel at 6.30pm we were informed that we could not be out later than 8.30 - later extended until 9pm.  The reason for this we were told was because a door lock was not working and the management had not arranged to have it repaired. We would need to be in before the staff left otherwise we would not have access to our room. Too late to arrange alternative accommodation we had to accept this state of affairs and quickly went out locally for a meal. This totally ruined our plans to go into the centre of Baden Baden.  What I found particularly unacceptable was that the management had left junior staff to explain the situations to guests without offering any kind of redress. 

Hotel had 9pm curfew

Hotel is in the train station so great not having to drag your bags everywhere. Staff was very friendly & coffee shop down stairs was great. Room was large and clean. Beautifully remodeled but still captured old time elegance. Very clean, towels & sheets were super soft. Thought it was going to be loud in the train station but the outside shutters keep out both light & sound. Was a really great experience I would recommend to my fellow train travelers.
