Pierre & Vacances Residence Les Rives de L'Aure

We booked 4 nights at The Pierres et Vacances apartments in St Lary Soulan to spend afew days in the mountains. It was really good value, and I was a little sceptical, but on arrival we were given a fantastic welcome by Sylvie in reception, and our apartment was really well equipped, clean and comfortable, and with a great balcony overlooking the river. The hotel is really well located, and the amenities of the village are just afew minutes walk away. There is plenty of carparking and storage for skis and bikes. The reception is not open 24/7 but this really didn't cause us a problem, just be aware that if you arrive earlier or later than your check in time hoping to get in, it may be that no-one is there for you. So check when the reception hours are to make sure you are not left standing outside. Sylvie on reception was really helpful, and gave us some brilliant advice on some walks in the mountains, and also an excellent restaurant recommendation. She phoned 'Le Grange' for us and booked a table. This was a lovely traditional restaurant just out of town, about 20 minutes walk, and booking was absolutely necessary. We would like to try the skiing from St Lary, and I would definitely stay at these apartments again. They are quite simple, but everything worked, they were well equipped, and we had a great stay. Superb value for money. Oh, and there is even a really nice swimming pool for the Summer.
