Today we had lunch at la Croix d'or, the atmosfere and reception are good.
The food is good, resonable priced and well prepared the service is good.
If I pass by in the future will deff. eat there again and may sleep there aswell.

Very good restaurant

A great place from which to explore Sezanne and the region, and where we based ourselves for the trip, both at the hotel and restaurant.
Lovely place, food and atmosphere, and a thoroughly enjoyable few days.
In a world full of characterless, 'corporate' hotels and restaurants, it was lovely to spend time with friends in a place full of character, and charming characters.
Nothing was too much trouble, and I look forward to visiting again one day.

The room was OK for an overnight stay and I don't complain about the dinner I had at the restaurant. The shock came next morning when I was looking forward to breakfast: absolutely sub-standard even when one considers that French provincial hotels are not very good at this. The bread was not exactly stale but that's about as positive I manage to be. There were no croissants (it's France after all!), the presentation of the "buffet" clearly showed that no-one could be bothered about giving their guest a good time. So, no choice at all and they seem to assume that everywhere in Europe people get by on a bit of wheat bread with jam. When I checked out, I was appalled to notice that my room had been billed twice for which the clerk apologized and this may or may not have been an attempt at cheating. Anyway, it's not a hotel I would choose again. If you don't get a room anywhere else, try to have a coffee and a croissant at a local baker's and carefully check what they ask you to pay.

Better stay out of it

This hotel was a disappointment at many levels. The welcome was half hearted at best with no offer to show us our room or help with luggage. The room had a view over the corrugated kitchen roof and was adequate but not luxurious or well equipped and cold with no heating. Very poor lighting, old decoration, and a very loose loo seat!! The towels were a disgrace. I have used softer sandpaper in my time. Hard and rough as well as thin hardly describes the horrors. No tea or coffee making in the room. Breakfast was very thin for 8 euros and anything interesting was extra!! We went to the café up the road on day two and it was half the price and far superior. We had dinner on the first night and it was very good and very nicely served by a very pleasant waitress - but it was expensive for what we got. Day two we went the a restaurant called La Mezzanine just up the road and had a lovely dinner at two thirds the cost of the hotel. On top of all this they charge 5 euros a night to park your car in the hotel carpark! In the carpark is a dog in a cage that has not been cleaned out for I should think a month. Disgusting. This place could be so nice but they seem overly keen on the money and not on the guests. Avoid until they buck up would be my advice.
