good price for clean place, close to transportation, but small, no elevator and air-condition

Excellent if you want to have a place to go to sleep and being closer to the main city spots and attractions.

The bathroom and cleanliness could be improved.

The owner was very helpful; he let us left our bags there until the check in.

Safe zone and easy to move to the main city places

Toilets are really dirty and very small so that your clothes cleans all the dirt and stuff, disgusting!! Although we ordered a room for two, the bed was just a bit wider than single bed. The design of the room and the corridor is like a prison and everywhere is very dusty and smell damp. There is no security at all, the hotel is is open to strangers 24/7. 

But the most horrible part is, owner/receptionist was brave enough to break into our locked room with his keys while we were sleeping in the afternoon. We were very tired and probably didn't hear if he knocked the door but come on! how the hell do you think you can enter our room even if we are out. It has been just 2 hours since you gave it to us. 

I can still see the terror in my wife's eyes. It was terrible experience to hear someone breaking in in the middle of your sleep, especially if you are very conservative Muslim family with hicab. I believe the owner is also from Islamic origin but a terrible human being. He is a shame!

If you have already booked from this place, I suggest you to cancel it if you don't want to ruin your visit. One thing maybe sheets were clean but the blanket on top was smelly. And also the location, as mentioned by many other reviews is good, but we still had to take transportation to many places, so it does not really save the place. Just pay a bit more and book somewhere else

Terrible experience. The owner broke into our room in the middle of our sleep

the hotel is in a very nice area, close to place de la Republique, very cheap being in Paris, but not very clean... and there wasn't the elevator and we were at the 4th floor!

not a good experience

I live across the street from the hotel and I have a unique perspective on it. I have never stayed there but I can see into one of the rooms and it looks filthy and run down. Also, if the lobby is any indication, this place is a dump. The bathrooms are apparently shared so you might as well stay at one of the nicer hostels in the area for the price. The guests that stay here are sometimes not of the highest caliber because it is so cheap. There is regularly noise in the street late at night from drunk guests. I have called and gone over to complain to front desk staff on multiple occasions and they always say it is not their responsibility and to call the police. It is easy enough for them to just walk outside and ask their guests to be quiet as this is a residential street. The last time I went inside (tonight), the front desk clerk (manager?) was clearly drunk. In addition, I have seen him quite a few times go out onto the landing and pee off the side of the building. What a charmer! I'm actually typing this review at 12:30am Paris time because I just got back from dealing with the noise over there. They are one of the deciding factors of whether I want to renew my lease or not. I would stay far, far away from this place. It is not the quant Le Marais experience you are looking for. Paris is amazing which is why I moved here and I would hate for anyone to have a terrible experience because they got stuck in this hole.

The only redeeming quality about this hotel is their chubby black and white cat. 

Also, on a completely random note - if you do decide to stay here, skip the croissants at bakery on the corner. They are not light and flaky and are always undercooked in the middle. But the sandwiches are pretty good. People queue up for them every afternoon.
