Very helpful staff. I forgot to take my bill at check out, and send me an email. I am really thankful. 

They are making alteration at rooms. So now they have brillant showers and bahtrooms.

They clean rooms everyday. Beds are clean and comfortable. Hotel location is good and hotel is quiet.

We got a good price to stay here. Central location. Car park just alongside hotel which front desk porter was very helpful about and costs 15 euro for 24 hours. Hotel shabby but if you just want to get your head down after travelling its fine. Breakfast not great. Staff were friendly and helpful. 

Old but convenient 

My partner and I decided on a last minute stay in Lyon. We arrived at the Dauphine without a booking, and the gentleman behind the desk kindly gave us a room for a great price, no problems. We were also provided with secure parking for just €15. 

From the get go, we received excellent customer service and were made to feel very welcome. Any questions we had regarding Lyon were excellently answered and we couldn't have been happier.

The rooms are just what you need for a quick over night stay. Hot shower, comfortable bed and clean. We literally have no complaints against this hotel and we have already said we will stay there when we visit Lyon again. 

The hotel is located pretty close to most shops and bars. About a 5 minute walk from one of the main squares. 

Don't stay here if you're expecting a glamorous stay, but if a great room with the necessary facilities is what you're after, then this place ticks all the boxes.

Great value for Money

I do not normally criticise hotels or restaurants too much but this hotel deserves criticism. The rooms are tiny and not well equipped. It was difficult to get to even though it is close to the station. And worst of all is the fact that it does not have a lift, so you have to drag your cases up a flight of stairs and then down a narrow corridor with a loose rug that gets in the way of both your feet and wheels on the luggage.

On the plus side it is located quite well for walking tours of the city and the staff are friendly.

A very modest hotel

From the ouside, we were shocked and prepared for the worst. However, the staff is really nice, they speak English perfectly, and helped us with parking the car in the private garage next doors - they even made us a special price since we arrived at 5 p.m. and only stayed until 7 a.m. the next morning. There is no elevator (at least we didn't see one) and the stairs are narrow and steep. The room was small, but functional. It was probably recently renovated and looks quite modern. The bed is rather small, but we learned that that seems normal in France. The bathroom was actually pretty big with new, huge windows. The shower is really small and sets half of the bathroom under water. We didn't have breakfast since we left so early, so I don't know what it costs and whether it's worth it. The location of the hotel is great, most of the sights are within walking distance and we felt safe there at night, although Rue Duhamel makes a rough impression. For a short trip to Lyon, Hotel Du Dauphiné is a really good choice and we would come here again.

Nice for short trip if you overcome the first shock

The rooms are cheap and not cheerful. The parking is extra, service for breakfast disorganised, carpets threadbare, and the room stank of sewerage because the traps in the tiny bathroom did not work. The toilet had no lid on it. And there is no air conditioning. I know it is 'cheap', but it really is awful and extremely basic. I would not recommend it at all.
