Whilst the rooms are still clean and tidy this stay was really disappointing.  The restaurant food, previously the reason for returning was very average.  Steak had to be returned as it was burnt, when medium was requested.  Other main course, wild bore stew the local speciality, was over-cooked and dry.  The room over-looked the courtyard restaurant and the staff chatted till after midnight over a drink making the room noisy.  Sadly won't be going back for a fifth time

Not as good as before

As a family of 5 plus a Border Collie we stayed in 2 rooms as a stopover on the way to the south of France. We had an excellent check in experience and the rooms were perfectly comfortable. We had a fabulous meal and the whole team were very accommodating to my 6 year old daughter and dog. I left some clothes by accident on the room and the hotel graciously posted them onto me in France, even though this was entirely my mistake. Arc en Barrois is a charming little village and this is a perfect stopover hotel, or for longer. Thank you Hotel Du Parc, we all really enjoyed our stay and are grateful for your kind hospitality. We’ll be back in winter en route to the slopes! 

Outstanding!

Used this charming little hotel as an overnight stop over on our way down to the Mediterranean in May 19.  The hotel is centrally positioned in the village of Arc en Barrois, only a few km from the A5 autoroute.   The rooms are on the small side and simply furnished, but are clean and comfortable.   The hotel has an excellent restaurant with well priced local dishes,  breakfast was the normal simple French affair.   We were travelling with another couple and I think we would all happily stay again.

Perfect stop over

We used this hotel as an overnight stop, driving from UK down to Spain. It is about 11 kilometres of minor roads from the motorway but we wanted something different to the sterile motels on the motorway, just for once. I did read in the ‘blurb’ that it was an old hunting lodge and took this to mean it used to be a hunting lodge. Wrong. It is a lovely old lodge situated on the town square but they are still very much into hunting with the place full of ‘trophies’, posters advertising hunting competitions and a menu themed around wild boar and stag. Not so great for a pescatarian! We stayed on a Friday and a large party of ten arrived just after us ready for a weekend of hunting.
The staff spoke only a little English, and we speak no French, but were incredibly friendly and helpful. Wine and food was cheap and served in a comfortable restaurant.
Our room was a little small and basic but warm and we slept well. If you want a bit of fun and something different from the sterile motorway stops this could be an option to consider, especially if you like your meat!

Overnight stop on drive through France

The room and facilities are fairly limited but there is a real rustic charm about this historic hunting-themed relais. We enjoyed a high quality evening meal and a good breakfast buffet. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money with plenty of character.

Interesting small hotel with a good restaurant

Have been repeat visitors for several years ! Fabulous evening meal (try the "3 types of local Game" sampler with pasta, but remember there won't be vegetables; cheeses with salad after - fabulous meal). Breakfast, in separate room, is basic & you may wish to request extra meat/cheese; bread & pastries are superb.

Village has wonderful flowers along river, but not in April, but an interesting stroll.

Alerted management that step in room 2 needs better marking (yellow reflective tape maybe). I know its there, but still missed my footing. Otherwise good room, as are most others. Comfy beds, big bathroom (but shower over bath is dated, not special).
Remember hotel is closed Mon/Tues outside main season, so check & plan ahead.

Great French cuisine, small hotel, just right distance to port.

After numerous phone calls from Britain we decided to stop over at the Hotel du Parc, relying on the many positive UK reviews. The staff was very friendly on the phone but on our arrival nobody expected us. We got help. as promised, with the luggage, had a drink in the cosy but modern Brasserie - few jolly locals joined us and praised the hunting season in the area and the food, but we wondered why they all left before dinner time. On our arrival we were told that they expected lot's of hunters so all the 16 rooms upstairs were taken except one tiny room under the roof on the second floor. The room was tidy, but stuffy with one Velux window. 
Eventually we entered the totally empty dining room, decorated with with cheap and grand looking candelabras, synthetic table cloths and napkins - everything very glitzy and fake glamorous, like a film set. The menu was sealed in plastic. As we expected the game season, and the ominous hunter not arriving, we ordered the Wild Boar .As a starter, my husband got a huge, totally dried our pasty with no flavour but with Rucola on the side (not very french) he almost chocked - I was served two shrivelled poached eggs swimming in a red sauce, grizzle of bacon and some undercooked onion bits floating about tasting of absolutely nothing.
The main course consisted of  a few chunks of wild boar, swimming to our amazement in the same thin red sauce - decorated with a dried out apple and the most overcooked pasta in the world - mushy noodles would be the word. The Mousse au Chocolate was pre fabricated and not worth talking about.  
What on earth did our UK fellow travellers think when they wrote these excellent reviews? 
What a pity for such a lovely village. So be warned about the Hotel du Parc. 
It took us a long time in torrential rain to head back to our original route, with tummy aches and cramps, to put it mildly. WHAT A PRICE TO PAY, WHAT A FARCE !!
