Abay Minch Lodge

Stayed here two nights. I found the bed on the soft side with a hard pillow. The room was fairly large and comfortable with a sitting area out front. The sink drained onto the floor, but the shower didn't. I used bathroom slippers I brought myself (don't remember seeing any in the room). The bathroom had very nice smelling amenity soap. You get 1 tiny roll of toilet paper a day. It's worth bringing some with you from home for all the places that don't stock any. The restaurant served buffet meals for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast included an omlet station, fried potatoes, fried french toast, breaded fried bananas, etc. There were minor changes between the two days. If you arrive on the later side they don't refill the food stations and you have more limited options. We saw wild monkeys on the grounds our first night. You can also walk to the nearby bridge where you can spot hippos. The grounds themselves are gorgeous. There are a few paths to walk with flowers and manicured shrubs. The key has to be left at the office when you leave. It's European style, so you have to turn the key to open and lock your room.
