Jasmine Palace Resort & Spa

This is a great hotel with beautiful grounds. The grounds really set it apart from other hotels I've stayed at. We were a family of 4 - 3 adults and one child. Do not be put off by negative reviews. Rooms Our Double Room Seaview was great on the ground floor with an amazing view. 2 extra beds were provided in the room so we had one bed each. We did have to ask for the 4th bed but it was there within the hour plus a mattress for the sofabed. These rooms are about a 7 min walk from the main building / reception. Pools There are a lot of pools to choose from. We tended to stick my the pools near to the main building. We didn't get up or leave the room super early, we would arrive around 11/11:30 and would be able to find sun loungers. If you tip the lifeguards, they will also save or find sun loungers for you. Food The food was good. It's not the best food I've ever eaten at the buffet restaurants but there was a variety - usually chicken and beef based dishes each evening and vegetarian too. If you are fussy and tend to like beige or very plain food, this may not be for you. But there is a pasta station where they will cook you pasta available at both lunch and dinner. There are 2 buffet restaurants and by the time we left, there were 5 a la carte restaurants (Egyptian, Italian, Pasta, Chinese and Mexican). The food in the a la carte restaurants is delicious and you weren't limited to how many times you could visit. If you wanted to book one per evening, you could. There's specific hours to book a table. They didn't tell us you could order kids food at the a la carte but ask if you do as I've seen some people say they will provide more plain meals eg nuggets and chips. We were told that an Indian a la carte restaurant was also due to open. Drinks I'm not a massive alcohol drinker so I only drank one cocktail which was very nice. Bottles of water are provided in your room. There are self service machines for water, pineapple or orange squash and of course you can ask for other soft drinks or alcoholic drinks at the bar. There is also a fresh juice / smoothie bar which is additional but worth the price for the size of the drink. They don't sell them with alcohol but advise you can go to the bar to add alcohol to it. Beach The beach is very pretty. The jetty is great and you can see fish in the clear waters for the whole length. We saw a turtle on our first day at the end of the jetty. There are moon jellyfish on the beach. I saw some reviews that there was a lot of rubbish at this beach and they must have gone elsewhere or wrote a fake review. I saw one coffee cup in the water. I was VERY apprehensive about this hotel after reading more reviews after booking. If I ever returned to Hurghada, I wouldn't even look at different hotels. I would book Jasmine Palace again.
