Nice hostel

An excellent location and good value for money in Santa Cruz, Galapagos.  Maria, the hostess, is also a good cook, so take advantage of her breakfasts and lunches.

Good spot for Santa Cruz

Place is clean and neat. Good wi-fi, hot water, and service. Pablo (who runs the place) is a very nice guy, although you should be the one to approche him to get tips and hints (not sure if he can speak english). Place is a little further from downsquare (which can be a good thing or bad), so its quiet. 25 US/room for two.

I waited at the property for around two hours to check in and not a single person was in sight. I called the numbers available online and none of them were working numbers. There is a sign in the courtyard with alternative numbers, and when I called those nobody answered. The listing states 24 hour reception but that clearly is a misadvertisement. In the end, I had to change hostals.

No a/c or fan. No TV. No wifi. No water sometimes

Elendigt Sted

We recently stayed for 2 nights in this hostal and had a terrible experience. 
The roof outside our room was broken so we asked the owner to take a look and see if he could fix it. We then went into town to get some food and were one for 30-40 minutes. 
On returning we found the door was unlocked. I had left my wallet in the bedside drawers and only taken enough money for the food. When I checked my wallet I realised that someone had taken $100 from it. 

We confronted the owners who tried to initially blame the cleaner and then said it's never happened before and refused to take any responsibility. The owner admitted to opening my door to check the roof an stated he didn't lock the door after. 
They refused to give any money or compensation. 
Also on our first night there a young man walked into the room without even knocking and apologising, he was the son of the owner and gave no reason for doing this. 
The next day we realised we had left our toiletries bag there and when we returned they said they found nothing and were laughing amongst themselves. 
This is the worst hostel we have stayed in during 7 months in South America. Please avoid this at all costs and ensure they get no more business.
