Hotel Rosim is the perfect spot from which to explore Cotopaxi or hike the Quilotoa loop. It has a variety of rooms, some private and some hostal style. It is close to banks (so many banks), restaurants, Vincent Leon square, the airport and the bus terminal. There is artesanal shopping around the corner and many restaurants. The rooms are basic but really clean. The staff was exceedingly helpful and they let us store are big bags while we hiked the Quilatoa loop. There is a restaurant on the premises although we didn't eat there. It is very quiet, virtually no street noise.

All we needed

Stayed here November 2019, had a large private room for 16 dollars off season. Place was very central to restaurants and stores, very clean, hot showers, fast, free WiFi, comfy bed and serves a full, hot breakfast with eggs, fruit, fresh juice and rolls. The staff is super friendly and helpful, though they do not speak much English. I don’t mind as my Spanish is passable. They also have a tour desk, but again, no English. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent  Budget Option

Don't be afraid of the outside entry and long corridor to get to the welcome desk, this hotel is a very good value and worth a stay.
It's located in the very centre of Latacunga and at easy walking range of the bus terminal (~15minutes). The rooms are quite big, with a nice wooden floor and hot water for the shower. The staff, especially the father and son, are very gentle and helpful and they will do their best to help you.
If you're to stay in Latacunga beforeor after the Quilotoa loop or Cotopaxi climb, this is the good place to sleep.


A good value and place to stay in Latacunga

A nice place to stay. The Hostal is not super new but kept in a good shape and clean. It is in the heart of the city so you find shops and restaurants around. The best thing though is the extremely nice and helpful stuff who makes you feel really welcome. The let us leave our luggage there for free while we where hiking the Quilotoa Loop. Also they do real nice breakfast with fresh juice. 

Clean and great staff 

Mr. Fausto Rivera, is the best hotel owner/manager ever! It is rare that guests have such a gracious, accommodating host. He is a gem and the price was right. We arrived in Latacunga to attend the La Mama Negra festival the next morning. We were immediately told that if we parked our car in the Hotel's garage we wouldn't be able to get out the next day because of parade barriers. Senor Rivera arrived and arranged for us to park at his home, several kms away, instead. And there's more to praise. We were given the only double room with a balcony looking out directly on the parade route and he let us delay our check-out so we could watch the preparations from our balcony in comfort. Then he provided us with chairs right outside the hotel and stored our luggage while we watched the parade. After the parade he personally walked me back to his house to retrieve our car. There were huge street crowds and the traffic was tied up everywhere. We are indebted to Senor Rivera for his overwhelming hospitality. Other pluses: good breakfast included, hot showers, comfortable beds, perfect downtown location and a wide variety of rooms from singles to many beds. Hotel Rodelu, located next door, and has a nice street-front cafe and a dining room. Hotel Rosim is very convenient and inexpensive.  I highly recommend it.

If you are in Latacunga, stay here!

I was turned off to staying at a hostal due to a bad experience the night before. The staff at Hotel Rosim was so helpful very nice and the room was clean large and secure. I had a great nights sleep after a day of trekking!

Great stay, friendly staff, highly recommend.

We stayed at hotel rosim one night before and one night after the quilotoa hike. The staff was really nice and helpful with information and we got a really nice room with a hot shower. We could even leave our huge bag in the hotel without any problem. The room was warm and clean and the breakfast very good.
I think the owner and staff changed 2 years ago and it was bad before, otherwise i couldn't explain the bad reviews. It's just lovely and we felt very well!
One of the best places we've stayed in south america! Go for it!

Perfect stay, 100% recommend it

In April of this year-2018-I spent three nights at this hotel.It was a lovely experience.The hotel is centrally located near Parque Vicente Leon and convenient to most sights.Check-in was handled very efficiently and I was shown to my room.The room was super clean and spacious and gave great sleep quality.I found the staff extremely friendly and in this regard I want to pay tribute to Rivera,Fausto and especially to Fernando.These staff members made my stay very enjoyable-even to the extent of Fernando calling a taxi for me on the morning I was leaving....Breakfast was adequate each morning and my room was serviced each day...This is a lovely place to stay-clean,friendly and welcoming..I am happy to give it 10 out of 10.
