Staff were kind and welcoming, the room was so comfortable, the breakfast was great, and the location was perfect. Good parking. Would absolutely stay again! And the hotel pups were the best part of it all! 

Perfect for Baños trip 

We stayed here for one week and totally fell in love with this family. The business is very well run, the family works together beautifully to provide a kind, healthy and very clean atmosphere. (This place is IMMACULATE!) 
Breakfast was amazing: each day a different, delicious, healthy and sustaining amount of food with incredible juice and coffee.
The other meals we ate were tasty, nutritious and colorful to the max. This was so important to us as we hiked around a good portion of Banos de Agua Santa and we certainly needed the energy, protein and vitamins.
Some other notes: This Hostal gives you the impression of walking into a classical Mexican movie at first glance, but the next morning  you wake up and find that it is indeed true...but it is the 22nd century and the staff is prepared for anything...internet, pandemic safety and just about anything else you need!
The family is kind, generous and loving. We never heard a cross word amongst the staff while we visited.
La Madre is the chef, and cooks WELL. She beautiful, calm, and a craftswoman.
The sons are waiters par excellence and one in particular loves to speak English! :)
Definitely go here if you are in the area for a meal or to spend the night. Keep in mind that the Hostal is near a recreation park (we always felt safe here)  and things can be a bit noisy on the weekends. Just pack earplugs and all should go well. Five stars plus!!

Beautiful and delicious!

I loved the place, it´s much (MUCH) nicer than the average hotel... and only $10-$20 more than much more simple places. Rooms are big and comfortable with a wooden finish from floor to roof. Has small pool table, very cozy rooms, incredibly well maintained, tidy. The food is very good, prices are average for Baños. It was quiet and we could enjoy an excellent night rest.
The staff was extremely kind and helpful. If I go again with the family will definitely stay again.

Beautiful place to stay, welcoming service and nice food!

If you want to feel at home, this is the place to go. The owner has an exquisite taste and has chosen every detail. The common area, the rooms and bathrooms are done with very nice materials. Additionally, they are of really good size.

The bedrooms have good matresses and linens and with enough space and light as well as the  bathrooms, which have a sober tile and vanity and a dispenser with soap and shampoo.

If you want to recreate yourself,  there is a pool table and a nice area to sit on the second floor. If you want to read or write, there are nice tables at the deck around the house, at the dining room area or a private terrace in room 6.

Saul and Gloria, who administer Hostal Ilé, are very acommodating and pleasant. They have the place impecable and just make you feel at home. Their Mexican restaurant, Pancho Villa, has good food and very reasonable prices

We were there during the weekend with some friends. Music was played at the park until 11 pm. I slept like a baby and we all had an amazing experience and stay.

I highly recommend Hostal Ilé. 

Amazing experience/maravillosa experiencia

I really hope this hotel manages to climb the Trip Advisor ladder, because it deserves to be very near the top of the heap of the hotels in Banos. Why?  It's beautiful, well-located, and the rooms (especially the beds and the linens) are some of the best I've encountered in Ecuador.  

None of this says anything about the manager Saul (I hope I have that right.). He is simply amazing...so friendly and accommodating. 

Oh, and the food...the best Mexican food I've had in Ecuador. 

One reviewer complained about the noise from the street, but we were there during the week, and we didn't have a problem at all.  Banos is something of a party town, so noise at night is probably to be expected. 

Stay here.  You'll love it.
