Hotel Orion

Stayed here for a couple of nights for something out of the way and different. This is an old converted hunting lodge, so the décor is very dark and traditional. Loads of atmosphere especially with the log fire greeting you on your arrival. The staff are really friendly and even though their English is limited, we managed to get by. We had a meal in the afternoon with family and friends, the food is ok, but really needs to be served quicker, as most of it was served warm not hot. The rooms décor is in keeping with the rest of the hotel and are of a very good size. The only issues we had were, The toilet is so small you are unable to close the door once in. The heating keeps going off and the room, as it is so large gets cold very quickly. The only other thing, was the bed was rock hard, but as we have stayed in another hotel since, it may be the norm, for Czech. Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice of cold meats, cheeses, yogurt etc. You also get a choice of ham and eggs or omelette as a hot addition which is a nice touch. Very good value for money but it is a bit out of the way. A taxi into Liberec is very affordable. Would recommend for something different.
