The location is great for sport enthusiasts since you will be doing alot of walking uphill if you do not use you car. The apartment was very clean and the owner was very welcoming although she did not speak any English. The room had a private bathroom and airconditioning. There was also a kitchen available for all to use. For those who wish to see the sites and not stay in their room for most of the day I would raccomend the apartment. However, if you wish to stay indoors more then I would suggest another type of apartment. The locals were very friendly and restaurants are by the dozen! Waiters literally persuade you to enter the restaurants. Prices are quite low and the portions are abundant. Fish and meat dishes are excellent. The only problem may be the fact that not all venues accept Credit Cards so it is best to have cash on hand. The automatic banking machines are all over but the exchange rate may not be so favourable. I would suggest changing your money in Croatia as there are no commissions charged and you get a good exchange from Euro to Kuna in the very many exchange offices. The promenade and city centre is very nice but you will see all in less than 3 days. I would also suggest the boat cruises which are very interesting and not expensive at all, for those who have tight budgets. The cruise takes you to Bol which is very picturesque. Our stay in Macarsca was memorable and I will definitely visit again.
