1) wrong address listed. Took me 20 minutes to figure out that the correct address was listed only in the email. Email wasn’t clear that google maps and Apple Maps was wrong.2) no communication with the property as we were figuring out the address in the dark3) villa booked wasn’t provided to us as their was no power in the villa which was initially booked4) no internet provided during our stay.5) had to figure out the water supply issue on one of the days of our stay6) I have been trying to reach the property for refund but the property manager has been ignoring all my texts very conveniently 7) in all there is nothing that I can do

This merchant has provided a horrible service. First of all, the policy in booking.com and in the merchant's web site says I will not be charged until few days before the start of reservation which in my case was in July 2023. However, I was charged the full amount at the time of making the reservation. I made reservation in March, cancelled in April 4 and as of May 15 I have not received the refund. The policy clearly stated no penalties at all for cancellations until near reservation time. I contacted merchant by phone to no avail. Was told to deal with booking since I made reservation there. Merchant's agent was very dismissive and completely of no help.  I disputed the charge in my Amex and later merchant sent documentation that refund has been submitted (and paid) to bank of costa rica account!  I do not even have a single account in Costa Rica. I never gave them any other information except for my Amex account #. It is ridiculous the lack of attention and disregard this merchant has shown. 


Horrble place to deal with for reservations 

These people took our money pre-Covid, and provided no services.  No refund provided.  Ignacio wasn’t responsive and when he finally did respond then offered to allow us to pay them again.  Seriously!!?? Do yourself a favor and find another property — it looks beautiful, but these people aren’t very nice or very professional.

Villa Paraiso: Stay Away.  Poor ownership and management

Super nice place in a gated community.  The pictures didn't do it justice.  We had a group of four so it was perfect.  Lower level had a laundry room and 2 equal sized bedrooms with bathrooms inside.  Each room also had a private patio with amazing views.  Upstairs had a 3rd bathroom, full kitchen, dining room, living room.  The outdoor covered patio wrapped around the side of the house and has even better views.  We sat out there for hours at a time.

Came back to our villa after a mangrove tour and dinner to find that our laptops and cash were stolen from the villa. We had locked all doors and put valuables out of sight. We learned that although we had locked all doors, 2 sliding glass inserts in the door have a design flaw and are unlockable. They open despite locking the door. Today, a worker is trying to find a solution for this.  Unfortunately according to the concierge, there has been a number of robberies lately. These villas are up a hill and a bit isolated. Also, unfortunately there is no safe on the property and we were not advised of any crime. So disappointing - wasting the day with police and workmen and do not feel safe at all. I recommend staying somewhere where they are straightforward about the crime in this area rather than ignoring it and not addressing the lack of security such as unlockable doors. Stay somewhere more concerned about safety.

Burglarized - completely unsafe property

We stayed at Casa Capung and it was just so AMAZING! Olmer was our concierge and he was so friendly and helpful! He made our stay so special! I would definitely recommend this place !! Lovely lovely lovely !!! Thank You Olmer !!

Vacation !!

We had an amazing stay at Villas by Tekoa.  The villa was breathtaking- an architectural marvel- and the service was unsurpassed.  We had our own private concierge named Olmer that helped prior to, during and even after our stay when we had travel challenges.  He pre-shopped for us (a must with kids) provided guidance on compatibility and scheduled all of our activities, made dinner reservations, helped us navigate, checked in on us regularly, disposed of critters, managed household issues and even helped us with a flat tire!  Honestly Olmer was the best part of our vacation. If you want to enjoy the spectacular, adventurous beauty of Costa Rica without having to think too much on vacation, stay with Villas by Tekoa and use Olmer.  He takes care of everything.  You won’t be sorry.

Fabulous experience with Villas by Tekoa!

1. there are no signs to find the location from the road2. the place is dirty, It is a beautiful villa that has not been properly maintained. there is no Pool, the property stated that there was a public pool, and there is an option to have a private pool. the private pool option is a very small pool. The linen is dirty , the pillows are so dirty you wont put your head on it. the water ran out. we called the concierge asking about where the pool is since I had called expedia and verified that there was a public pool option i did not wan the private pool. the concierge said there is no pool. after the water ran out we just left to a hotel. The place is horrible. Mainly because of no maintenance. The location is very nice and it has potential but if you are ok with a dirty place then go for it. Otherwise I suggest you go elsewhere.

This review is for the Flying Monkey Villa only, which is “managed” by Villas by Tekoa.  STAY AWAY from the Flying Monkey! We had no potable water for our entire stay, but nobody bothered to tell us it wasn’t potable so we got sick on the first day of our stay. We then only had intermittent water of any kind for the last four days of our stay, and it was often brown and disgusting, and only came on late in the evenings and/or early morning. The owners are very dishonest and unethical — we were promised in writing that we’d get a refund for every day we were without water, which was 4 days (setting aside the potable water problem). We only asked for 3 days, but were only refunded 2 days. The owners then lied to HomeAway about what transpired, and HomeAway refused to help us. The owners are liars, the property management company, Villas by Tekoa, stinks, and HomeAway’s guarantees are worthless. Really awful people all around.  Note that this was NOT booked through TripAdvisor, which we love.

NO POTABLE WATER, NO RUNNING WATER, NO REFUND AS PROMISED

Would highly recommend Villas by Tekoa - Olmer is a spectacular host and our home had an amazing view of the Pacific
