It's a bed, a nightstand, a small closet and a bathroom with shower. There is a tv and a phone. That's all. The room was clean, there was plenty of hot water and the staff were nice.

The place was perfectly quiet until about 6:30 am when they started preparing breakfast. They have a shuttle service for 25k pesos and the single room was 70k pesos per night.

The downside: I wasn't even given a room key and the lock was just a push button. Even an amateur could break into the room with no problem. There is no room safe, which would be a problem for most. Also, the shower drain was clogged. Too long of a shower and you'll flood the room.

Basic, Cheap and Quiet

We were sceptical about this hotel but were pleasantly surprised. The building is quaint and has character. It is a small converted house in a tucked away location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not great but they try. We had a king size bed which was really nice. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Nothing high end about this place, but it had everything we needed for a great price.

As you can see from the title of my post, my stay there was less than pleasant.
I spent approximately ten weeks there as I hunted for an apartment in Bogota.

Positives:
Very friendly staff at the front desk, always courteous and professional.

Decent location; a very nice surburban neighbourhood with parks. A Variety of services in the area, although most close by 10 pm. There are two malls about five minutes by taxi: Centro Commercial Gran Estacion and Salitre Plaza.

Negatives:
Thin walls. This is a house that was converted into a hostel. You hear EVERYTHING, from people taking a shower to making love. My advice is to take the room on the ground floor at the very back. At times I could hear noise coming from the back of the hotel at others it was some sort of heater in the kitchen above that sounded like it was drilling for oil.

They seem to have a problem maintaining hot water. On three occasions there was no hot water, this problem usually lasted from one to three days depending on the occasion. Strangely their kitchen had hot water so the Reception was nice enough to bring some down in a bucket for me.

On June 1 I decided to pay for my last week in advance via my CC. I later realised I had been overcharged by approximately 380 000.00 pesos (three hundred and eighty thousand)
The receptionist immediately recognised her error saying she had charged me for another room. My Visa had not yet been charged and I asked for a reimbursement. Now my Spanish is basic but she said yes only for five days later for me to realize I had been charged the erroneous amount. I was then told that they do not give reimbursements to CCs. I thought this was silly because if you can charge someone you can certainly refund them. It’s done around the world. I was told “not in Colombia.”

I was told the money would be sent to my bank account in Canada. It didn’t arrive, they seemed confused and I told them perhaps it was the issue of pesos to send it in US dollars. They said they cannot sent money in US dollars. I then asked to have the money given to me personally. They told me they preferred to send it to an account in Bogota, which I had. Thank God I am living here or I don’t know how much more ridiculous this could get.

I gave them my bank details and was told to expect the money in two business days. The receptionist told me to come by the next day just to confirm everything was alright. Management never spoke to me directly although their office was within walking distance of the Hotel. Imagine my surprise when I showed up the next day and was told no money had been sent because they “have no money in their account.” First of all they own a number of hotels so I am sure their balance isn’t zero. Secondly they too money that wasn’t theirs. Therefore, they obviously spent money that wasn’t theirs as well. I made it clear that their lack of funds was not my problem. I have now been waiting five weeks to get paid. I have asked for the contact info for someone in management and sent her an email.

Hotel Agora, fix your hot water problem or give people a discount if they go more than a day without hot water. Secondly learn how to reimburse Credit Cards you erroneously charge. Your management is pathetic in terms of handling this matter.

Pay me my money please.
