If I could, I would give the hotel 2 ½ stars given my experience.  

First the ugly:  I was there for two days and there was no COLD water.  That meant hot - VERY hot - showers.  It also meant the toilets did not flush, unless you filled tank with water, which as you might imagine was a pain in the you know what.  They did not seem to be rushing to fix this problem, either.  There was still not cold water when I left.   Next, there was construction going on seemingly at all hours below my window.  It was 10:30 PM when I asked if they could move me to another room, they simply said no.  I asked what was going on with the construction and they called someone and the work stopped, only to start up again at about 12:30 AM!  It was going on at random times during my stay and it was pretty loud.  

The bad: housekeeping left a bit to be desired.  They did give me new towels when they "made" up the room,  but left the dirty tea and coffee cups.  They did not make the bed, just pulled the covers up (not a big deal, but should be pointed out).  I had a room with two beds, one had stains on the sheets, so I used the other.  There was a fridge in the room, but it wasn't plugged in and there was no easy way to do so.  There was one robe in the double room (good thing I was solo), at least the first night.  Seems housekeeping took it away, so my second day was robe-less.  Just odd.  In general, the room itself could use a little TLC and maintenance.  There was also a general slightly musty smell on the 6th floor.   

The good:  Bed was quite firm but comfortable.  Rooms are large, as is bathroom, which has tub and separate shower. Staff was very nice, although note there is very, very little English spoken.  The breakfast was quite good with loads of choices.  Lunch was pretty good, too.  Wifi was good.

The ugly, the bad and the good.

Nice hotel in a beautiful island in Yangtsé River. Rooms are big, bathroom really nice with many amenities and separated shower and hottub. Really nice breakfast with good selection of Asian and Western specialties. Wifi connection was reliable and fast enough for texting and emailing. Also worth to mention the relaxing atmosphere and the silent during night time. Really enjoyed our stay and we are looking forward to come back.

Really enjoyed our stay - Would come back

We stayed in this hotel in connection with a heritage tour to China.  The positives: clean and big rooms with no-smoking areas.  The negatives:  this hotel is very isolated, across one of the world's biggest (toll) bridges.  It is literally on an Island.  While a pool is advertised, it is in a relatively dingy outbuilding.   One other comment, there was no one present when we checked in, the (vast) lobby was deserted.  But, when we sat for a moment on what looked like chairs in the lobby, we were told to move-that it was a retaurant and we could not sit there.  If you are staying here to visit Zhenjiang, I would recommend something more centrally located.

This is a nice hotel and comfortable for westerners.  The hotel is fairly new and the rooms are spacious with modern conveniences.  The only drawback to this hotel it is isolated, which you need to take a taxi to and from to get to anywhere.  If you need a taxi tell the hotel to arrange one in advance (taxis do not hang around this hotel).  The road to the hotel is a toll road from the bridge, but the hotel will reimburse the toll fee as long as you tell them at check out (40RMB per day).
The breakfast is excellent with Chinese, western, and Japanese style food.  Hint, pay for the breakfast at Check-In (50RMB) or the cost is 68RMB in the morning.
