Very nice room, very comfortable, very modern. Room with large bay window on the bathroom, gives a great perspective! Breakfast served, no buffet, very little copying, only bemool on this hotel. Hotel very well designed for business, with very efficient WiFi.

Nice room.

This hotel looked very hip and modern. We really loved the feel and ambience of the room. The room's sound system played the latest dance music as soon as you enter the room and it makes you feel vibrant and alive. We even had a pet fighting fish for company, which was most probably well fed before we checked in. The room size was large and we had a cozy living area with a large couch with another flat screen tv. The hotel's location was great, we could choose to either borrow the hotel's bicycle or rent a bicycle from the many shops that rent them out, which is located just about 10 mins walk from the hotel.

Ultra Hippy & Modern Hotel

This orange hotel is about 10 min away from the famous west lake by taxi. Compared with thoese hotels close to west lake, orange hotel is much cheaper. The room I stayed has sound proof window (two layers) so it's very quiet at night. My parents and I were given some apples as welcome gift. (that season no orange ^=^). Each room has a small lovely fish. breakfast is not so good but since the room rate is already reasonable, I can't complain. I would book orange hotel if I visit Hangzhou again.

nice room, reasonable price

Actually it is quite excellent by China standards and very reasonably priced. Looks ultra modern with the glass elevator. Rooms were ok in size and made use of the USB hub and charging station. Nice touch was the little goldfish in each room. People complain of the lack of breakfast but don't forget we only paid abt USD30 per room. Walk across the street and there are a couple of mom-and-pop establishments which are very popular with the locals, and that in itself is a good sign!  No egg Benedict and why would anyone want that when travelling in China. We joined the locals and had fresh made Chinese style crepes/ pancakes, and spicey noodles and fresh warm soy milk, and those crisp freshly deep fried crullers(dough sticks). 


Good price hotel

I stayed in the Orange Hotel in Hangzhou for 10 days in October of 2013.  I was able to arrange a discounted price of around US$30/night for my longer stay.  The room was spotless, in excellent condition and quiet at night.  The staff, although most speak no English, were very kind to me.  The hotel also has very inexpensive bike rentals (I believe about US$1 per day) and I used the bike - like new - every day while staying in Hangzhou.  I strongly recommend this hotel to anyway looking for budge accommodation in Hangzhou.  There are also many stores and restaurants in the neighborhood.

Excellent budget hotel in Hangzhou

The hotel was adequate.  The room was clean.  Water pressure was good, but the water tended to pool in the shower.  The bed was large and not too firm.  Adequate sound insulation.  When we needed the cab to leave for bus station, the staff member called got us a cab and helped with luggage - this doesn't happen often in Chinese hotels.  There was a pet fish in my room!

Now, the negatives.  Rooms are very small, there barely was room for luggage.  And there was no breakfast to speak of!  They offered a coffee and a sandwich for quite a bit of additional price.  Well, I don't eat sandwiches.  I actually don't mind skipping a breakfast, but the person I was traveling with has to have a breakfast, so she was pissed.  We ended up going down the street to "East River Coffeehouse", which was an unforgettable experience!  They offer "tiramisu" which turned out to be a plate of waffles and fruit.  The menu there also features "Hunan-style cut-up children with noodles"!

The rooms are large, new and very clean. The bathroom is impeccable with a very functional shower corner. There is the possibility of renting bicycles for a small sum. So it is certainly quite far from the western lake (bus right in front or 15-20Y by taxi) but it is also much cheaper.

Clean, not surprising.

The Orange Hotel has a good price-performance ratio. We paid about 30 euros (double rooms) for one night. Breakfast is for 1.20 euros, but it is very Chinese and a little bit accustomed. Rooms are neat and clean. Service is very convenient (fresh oranges are put in the room). Wlan works well. The hotel is also super centrally located. By taxi you can get to Westlake for about 15 yuan 8 minutes and the bus station is 30 yuan (15-20 minutes). You are really well taken care of in this budget hotel.

Very good!

I stayed at the Orange Hotel in Hangzhou in July 2011. It was the first time that there was no carpet floor in the room. So the room was very clean. When booking, you should make sure that you book a room with windows (note: there are also rooms without windows). The air conditioning works very well. As in China, the staff still have extensive knowledge of English.
