Perhaps not the first hand choice for a first time visitor to Hangzhou, but still relatively convenient to reach many of the "rural" sights around Hangzhou if you are somewaht familiar with the area: Lingyin si (which is just a few minutes walk away), Longjing village, Nine Creeks & Eighteen Gullies, Yunqi Bamboo Grove etc. Either by rental bike, public bus or taxi. 

The hotel is rather small and housed in two separate buildings in the Baile Bridge Village (白乐桥) just opposite the Lingyin si bus terminus and car parking. A huge shopping/service area is located between the bus station and the temple entrance, with all kinds of restaurants and fast food outlets. The Baile Village itself has numerous other inns and restaurants. Neither the village hotels/inns nor village restaurants are aimed at English-speaking guests, but sooner or later there will be someone around to help out if you don't speak mandarin yourself. (Starbucks and KFC can be found in the Lingyin si service complex a few hundred meters away!)

The rooms are quite comfortable and gives _very_ good value for money compared to other Hangzhou hotels. The larger, upper floor rooms seems generally being a slightly better choice. Not one room is identical to another (it seems), and all of them suffer to some degree of "over design" with more peculiar than practical interior decorations and layouts. Not all toilets have doors, for instance.  But this is the case for most boutique hotels in China these days.
