The facilities are new and very well maintained. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of local option (you might be disappointed if you expect western-style of breakfast). Staff don't speak English very well but they are very helpful! (in one occasion the manager came up to my room to take my room service order after several failed attempts to do so by phone!)

A nice surprise!

stayed four nights and had a great time. initially given a room with two single beds for my husband and i, which was quickly addressed and changed to a king. other than some  minor stains on the carpet the room was perfectly spotless. smoking room (i think they all are) but you couldn't tell as no lingering odor. bathroom ultra modern, mattress extremely firm but surprisingly comfortable. internet sluggish. 

staff were all attentive and courteous. they do not get many westerners at this hotel (mainly asian tourists) but communication easily handled-if someone did not speak english they (literally) ran to get someone that did. 

the asst manager (yong) was especially wonderful acting as our translator when needed and ordered our first dinner catered to our personal tastes. continuous improvement attitude-wanting to know anything they could do to improve. breakfast is asian buffet style (but they did have fried egg, toast and bacon) as well as the best coffee i have ever had. again, being so attentive to customer service the asst manager got me a pound of coffee to take home.

 we had a driver and translator to take us around the city so distance to places not a real concern but this is not a downtown hotel. 

would highly recommend

The location is pretty good with great view of Tai Lake just in front of the hotel. Quiet area with supermarket or shopping mall in 15 mins walk.
The room is spacious and in good quality too. Just that the breakfast is just OK.

Good location

Standard hotel in Wuxi. The service was fine the rooms was of a nice size however the single quilt in a super king bed was a little bit of an issue maybe one that should be addressed. The beds were a nice night sleep though

Fine Hotel in Wuxi

The Picturesque hotel (something completely different in Chinese) is a nice hotel at the beginning of the tourist section of WuXi.  It is a 3 star, not 4 star, as advertised.  Nice lobby and friendly staff, who struggle with English. Larger size rooms, free internet, and a nice bathroom with typical Chinese paper-bag amenities.  Shower has dispensers for shampoo and soap, which I think is a condition of having a “green hotel”. I do not know who decided to decorate the guest rooms with white carpets, but mine was badly stained.  Room walls are thin so you can hear the neighbors, and the bed is on the extra firm side. The room did not smell bad, but there are no non-smoking rooms.  Breakfast, which came with the room rate (one per room) was minimal and not worth the 35RMB if you had to pay.  I was on the water side with a good view of the Ferris wheel in the distance.  WuXi has a free bike rental program and you can get an access card at the front desk.  You can reach the hotel (one block away) from the station via the 20 or 82 bus (2RMB) and it takes about 30 minutes. For the rate, this is a good choice.
