32 reviewsWe needed a warm and dry place to stay at the last minute in this tiny remote village located near many hot springs, lakes and national parks. We were welcomed immediately and since it was low season, we were able to get a room with ease. It was cozy, toasty warm and the showers had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Our breakfast was included and was much more hearty than the usual Chilean fare. In addition to the usual bread, cheese, ham & jams, they served scrambled eggs and kuchen (a traditional pie or tart) from the south. Our only complaint was the noise that carried through to our room late into the night from the bar/restaurant which was hosting a large group for dinner. Our room was located directly behind the bar/restaurant (#10), so if you're a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a different room, especially during the high season. The waitress who worked the evening shift in the bar/restaurant was delightful and provided us with great service and lots local knowledge. We will most definitely return to Coñaripe and would stay again at Hotel Elizabeth! ¡Muchísimas gracias!

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. Based on local tax laws, Chilean citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Chile) must pay an additional fee of 19%. Please note that for tax exemption travelllers must pay in US dollars and have to present the migration card they are given when they arrive to the country. Foreign business travellers, who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 19% regardless of the length of their stay in Chile. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation. |
