This past September I had the good fortune of spending a few days in Whitehorse for a last minute adventure.  I'd planned to stay at the Beez Kneez hostel for only a night while I got my bearings, but soon realized this was a perfect spot to stay for the week. Host Sara is helpful, friendly - clear with useful guidelines for guests and does everything she can to make every guest comfortable, and find what they need for their stay in Whitehorse. The accommodation itself is clean, cozy, comfortable and welcoming.  Some private rooms/bunkies made it perfect for a me - someone who wanted some privacy, but appreciated meeting other folks exploring whitehorse as well hearing tips and suggestions from Sara.  Thanks for being such a welcoming and friendly host to Whitehorse . Thinking of you - and hoping you have very happy holidays with your family.

Great home base in Whitehorse

Flight got in after midnight but my bed was ready, with a little electric candle and my name handwritten on an envelope with instructions. Within 12 hours it was like hanging out with friends who soon became family. The beds are soft, the blankets are thick, and the hostel is situated right in downtown. Bring good energy and it will be reflected 110%.

Fun, friendly, five stars

Spent a total of 5 nights at this incredible hostel that greeted us like family and not like guests.
The hostess is amazing, helped us get around and always made sure we were all set.
If you have any debate on where to stay in Whitehorse, this is the place!

Most lovely and welcoming place in all of Yukon

Comfy beds and Sara couldn't do enough for us. We had to catch a very early flight back to the UK but Sara was up to make sure we had coffee before we went. A really kind thought. If you need advice on where to go to eat Sara had some really good suggestions and there are loads of guide books on the coffee table. It's also great to be able to meet people from other parts of the world and chat to them, which is something you don't get in a hotel. I'm hoping to visit the Yukon again next year and staying at Beez Kneez will be on the itinerary!

An amazing place with the friendliest host who made our stay outstanding

Beez Kneez is a great place to stay and recharge your batteries while in Whitehorse. The owner, Sarah is very caring. I saw her spend 2 hours on the phone with an airline co. to change a couple's airline schedule who had difficulties understanding English. All in all a great experience.

You arrive in the Yukon, really far away from home, and the Beez Kneez is truly the best place to feel comfortable, to speak with people and start your adventure in such a positive atmosphere ! 
The rules to keep the place running well are strict and it's better this way. 
Ok, you have to leave the place everyday 3 hours to let the staff clean the place, BUT that's also a good way to motivate you to :
1. go to the amazing Whitehorse library if you need the internet/calm/read
2. Walk/hike/explore

Positive atmosphere

After a long haul from Alaska full of chilly car camping and too much granola, I decided to slow down and stay a couple days in Whitehorse. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Beez Kneez, where Sara has provided genuine, homey, peaceful accommodations for weary travelers. 

Full of clean sheets, hot showers, cozy beds and fresh coffee. From the warm, inviting atmosphere to adorable puppies romping around the living room to the fabulous conversation with guests from all over the world. Sara has truly made this hostel a home away from home. I highly recommend a stay, it'll make your trip.

A Home Away from Home

I was there, Sara, the manager, is really unpolite, surly.........I book for the dorm, she make me sleep on a destroyed sping sofa,  in a common area, with a simply coutain to divide it to the aisle. I spent the night with the spring stick in my back. Impossibile to use the kitchen, she prohibits everythig and prentend me to wash the dishes and the pots  with the simple hands, without using any kind of flat and soft sponge....

Don’t get me wrong. The place was clean, the beds and linen comfortable and you had use of the kitchen and laundry but ....  there were so many rules and the owner, although polite and efficient, made you feel unwelcome. I got the sense that she was trying to limit the wear and tear on the house that comes with cramming 12+ guests which she was tolerating (gritting her teeth) because it’s her livelihood but the effect was counter to any relaxed atmosphere you would expect at a hostel.  The price was right but we did not feel welcomed and felt overly crammed in the room.

Too many rules

We stayed at this hostel for four nights and it really deserves a 10 out of 10 rating! It's a very clean hostel and you can read a lot very positive memories about this place from people from all over the world. If you ever visit Whitehorse check out this place. I absolutely recommend it.
