Very comfortable spot right near the Plovdiv Old Town. Definitely worth the price and convenient to all of the sights!

Good Choice

Excellently located, very clean hotel with lovely helpful staff. Just a few niggles, we appreciated the kettle and cups in the room, but a little odd that there is no tea or coffee to go with it. The beds were comfortable but extremely narrow. The bathroom was nice but as no shower curtain over the bath the bathroom was always flooded and there was no bath mat to dry the floor. So overall a great stay just the finishing touches are missing. Thank you to the lovely and helpful staff

The hotel is reasonably new, but the balcony window was somehow damaged and did not close properly leaving some noise coming from the outside. The key to unlock the electricity in the room was hardly working. it was quite a long story every time i entered before fixing the electricity ;-) (- 1 star); the cards were not accepted although it sad they had to (-1 start)

fair hotel in the city center

The Famous is a basic hotel, conveniently close to the pedestrian thoroughfare and a 5 minute walk to the Kapana neighborhood. We were a large group and many of our rooms were quite warm on the hottest summer days. Beds and breakfast were decent enough, and a number of our rooms had terraces overlooking a lovely park, but what was encouraging was a helpful staff, who did their best to respond to the needs of our group.

Basic hotel with helpful staff

The service at the hotel was great, the staff speak English and were helpful. If you need an Iron and Ironing board just ask at the desk, they have them to loan.

The room was OK, bed was comfortable, WIFI was bad and kept cutting out, the WIFI in the lobby is more consistent. There was no safe in the room. I had to get extra hangers for clothes. The breakfast is OK, but, the coffee is really bad.

The bathroom was ok, but, the shower would spray directly on the floor and the water would drain through a drain under the sink. The floor would be wet after a shower. The towels were not great and they did not change them.

There is a wash and fold laundry service nearby. 

There is an ATM practically next door.

The hotel is well situated for the old town and all the sights.

All in all a satisfactory, but, not great, place to stay.

Good Location in Old Plovdiv, Average Hotel

This hotel is ran in a very sketchy manner. Here are a few examples:

1. They do not turn the lights on at the different floors. We were told by the frontdesk that a maintenance person would fix the issue the next day but this never happen. As a matter of fact I was abke to confirm with a friend that stayed there a month earlier that they have the same issue.
2. The hotel also claims that they take credit cards, but they will lie to you and make up stories about their credit card machine in order to force you to pay cash.

All in all I would not reccomend this place to anyone.

Plovdiv hotel

Poor breakfast; overcooked eggs dry bread, juice with almost no taste from concentrate; bad cofee. Must ask the staff to open the door for the garden. Too dark in the rooms with carpet which was a bit dirty. 

Expected more

Location is very good to reach by car. Parking is available in front of the hotel, however only 2-3 places available. We were not changed as we stayed over the weekend.
Reception: no one at reception when we entered the hotel in a minute a receptionist came greeting us with half mouth gave us the key without much explanations.
The door of the room was moving while locked and the handle was shaking.
Rooms are dark with ugly worn out red carpet.
Bathroom is very small and while taking a shower the water falls on the toilet and sink.
Towels are old grey with spots and worn out.
Breakfast: starts from 7 and ends at 10. Well at 9.15h almost everything is gone! The waiter can't be found to ask for some food. Cups and glasses looking dirty. The coffee is americano. The tea is not labeled so one doesn't know what will drink. This is unacceptable if clients have allergies or any special food regime.
This hotel could be a pearl in the town if properly managed and maintained, but now it's just a roof for 1 night!


Ok for 1 night 

The room was not clean enough, dirty and stinking towels, the same for bed lining. The design of the room is bad in terms of light - too dark, one even cannot see his shoes. Breakfast - low quality products, espresso (as offered) is not espresso but Nespresso. In the room was too hot without control over the temperature. Finally it was not possible to pay by card due to "technical problem". Only the location is good. In summary - there are other hotels: same price range, much, much better quality!
