Mundaka Hostel Pipa

The coolest hostel I have been to in 18 months of travel. The eclectic mix of colors and styles works, blended with the hip music it is thought provoking and inspiring. It's like a mash of everything. It feels representative of the guests; all different and all welcome. The one commonality throughout is the tranquilo vibe that emanates from the very walls and, most importantly, from the owners. Diego is the definition of the word tranquilo and his Argentinian songlike Spanish always has a warm happy beat. He can tell you where the best waves and the best flan are. Valentina is constantly dancing and telling stories, which fits her expressive nature and creates an atmosphere of excitement and fun. If you want to keep her quiet, tie her hands;) Martin is a cool, easy going guy and accommodates my different payment requests. He has an air of responsibility about him, but in a fun, relaxed way. Camilla is sweet and very easy to talk to. I feel like I can tell her anything. Simona, perhaps the most important owner, is the hostel dog and is by far the coolest of the owners...until of course you take her bone, then she is all business! I felt so comfortable in this hostel that I stayed for eight days. I spent a lot of time on the terrace meditating in the hammock and swinging chair. Valentina even lit incense for me one time. This is also the perfect place for a serious party and I vowed to return when they have one. I can't recommend this place enough. I will be back.
