Staff is rude, shout at people and the rooms were dirty. There was no water,when I arrived. The beds were not clean and reception isn't 24 hours. Even for a cheap hostel I don't recommend it. Go to another hostel.

Terrible place

You don't expect much from these prices but I still expected honesty. They tried to rip me off by forcing me into a more expensive room than the one I had booked, and they thought I'd have to give in because the alternative was me heading back on the streets of Rio at midnight without a place to stay. Unfortunately for them I don't put up with bs. 
Aside from that, the place feels very scummy, everything is falling apart and I couldn't leave fast enough in the morning.

Terrible, bunch of con artists

That hostel was the most terrible place I have ever been to. The staff that work there is terrible , rude and non-professional , especially the volunteers , one of them shouted at me , and accused me of stealing his phone. There was no bed for me because there were bed sheets clean, the manager was new and totally lost and indifferent. The breakfast is so poor and disgusting , the toilets also weren't  clean . the energy was cut off for # hours and the water as well. For the price I paid(in advance even) I was not expecting something luxurious but not that disgusting and awful.  I don't recommed it to anyone!

The Most terrible place I have ever been to!

I Love THIS place. Nice People, great accommodations, fabulous location. I enjoy my staying there and I couldn't leave. Thanks a lot to the crew, wonderful friends. I highly recommend this place. Don't doubt it, Get in There.

Cool and special.

Its just a terrible, terrible place. Heed all of the warnings! Obviously a 36 bed dorm is never going to be a breeze but the common area is just an old gym room where men used to watch themselves pump iron. Its a converted gym and it still smells like it. 

For the love of god dont stay here

I checked out of this hell hole this morning and am paying to stay in a hotel instead, I have been all over the world 1st, and 3rd world countries and can easily say I´ve slept better in airports than I did here. I read the same bad reviews you guys and gals are all reading and one said, ´´don´t stay here unless you absolutely have to.´´ In light of world cup, I said I had to stay there... Don´t. If you are coming for Carnivale or some big event and this place is your only choice, my advice would be to skip Carnivale. Or stay outside Copacabana, there are plenty of nicer safe areas you can stay and have a cheap cab to Copacabana. The place is filthy, the rooms aren´t real rooms, they are seperated by a partial wall, so essentially when you book the 4 bedroom dorm, you will be sleeping with 40 people. Security is terrible, the pool is a disgusting waste, and I avoided eating so I wouldn´t have to use the toilets there. Don´t do it!!!
