This is a very nice place to stay great location for transport...trains, trams, buses and cabs... will come back again as soon as we can. great restaurants and bare just round the corner.... The town centre and all the shops are just around the corner, the beach is just 10 mins walk

Great Place

We stayed at the Luxe Appartement Oostende for 1 night. There were 4 of us and we paid only € 95! Our stay was pleasant and comfortable. The appartment is very clean, nice furnished, located right on the marina with a balcony to enjoy the view. It had 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a large living room (sitting area, TV) where there was a kitchen corner (fridge, microwave, coffee pot, utensils, plates) and a beautiful dining area with wide windows.

We were met by the owner who gave us the keys and she was very pleasant.
On first impression of the apartment was very spacious, modern, lovely views over the harbour and we were very impressed.  

However, our stay was slightly marred by the fact that although the website does say 'plenty of free parking nearby' - this is not the case and we ended up parking quite a walk away (with a baby, buggy, bags etc) and parking near the station and right outside a couple of 'red light district' doors. Which our 16 month old was fascinated by but not totally ideal...  There is pay parking out the front but all the spaces are gone during the day.  We did end up going out during the day and got spaces in the evening and paid for a couple of hours - the parking is free from 7pm until 9am... just got to find a space! 

Once back inside the apartment again it smelt quite smokey (cigarettes) and in fact when we got home I had to wash everything (even things we hadn't worn) because they had that musty, smokey nictotine smell.   The sofas smelt of it too. 

There are 2 double bedrooms and the beds are comfy and off of one of the rooms is a small box room which had a cot in for our baby.  It was a nice clean cot although the mattress was a bit hard but we fashioned a soft mattress out of a spare duvet.   Don't forget to take all bed linen though.. for cot and beds. We have a superking bed at home so took that linen and the duvet fitted so don't just take a double because it won't fit.  oh and also take towels because these aren't provided. 

I think this apartment could be absolutely fabulous but it just needs a bit of a freshen up - no shower curtain, toilet flusher broken, tap in toilet didn't work, thick dark paint peeling off the door frames, poor quality toilet paper, wire hanging out of the wall, dusty light switches etc.  None of this affected our overall enjoyment and we liked our stay but I don't think this apartment hsould call itself Luxe.. I don't know what Luxe means in Belgian but it implys Luxury and this apartment is not quite there yet....
