Great location, beautiful panorama view of lake Fuschlsee and mountains. Walking distance from Fuschl am See town. The owner Christoph speaks good English and very helpful. When we arrived by bus from Salzburg to Fuschl am See, it was raining heavily and Christoph came in his car to pick us up.  Stayed in 2-bedroom apartment. The apartment is cosy, well maintained, very clean and tidy and recently renovated. The bedroom has big windows overlooking the pool and lake. The view from the balcony was just fantastic. Fridge, microwave, dish washer, cooking range, toaster, kettle, cutlery etc all amenities provided for a long stay. Free wifi is also provided and the speed was good. The area is very beautiful and a great place to go for a trip. Well connected by bus 150 to Salzburg and other places of interest. Can also plan hiking trips as a number of routes are there. A very relaxing place to stay. Highly recommended.

Very Nice holiday in beautiful family run pension

We choose Fuschl am see as the location for a family holiday in early March as we needed both a single bedroom apartment for us and a double bedroom apartment for our adult son and daughter. Inge and Sigi who run Pension Hohenau are a lovely  welcoming couple who met us at Salzburg airport and transfered us to their Pension. The accomodation was lovely with spacious, warm and clean apartments. After arrival Inge drove us to the supermarket to get some provisions. From the Pension it is an easy walk into the village centre about 800 metres away. We used the Cafe Flora and Edenbergers restaurants in the evenings which were both welcoming with good food. March is end of season so not all shops and restaurants were open every day so check opening times. We decided to use the Postbus to get around which is very easy and the 150 bus stop which goes between Salzburg and Bad Ischel is less than 100 metres from Pension Hohenau. Our children went skiing most days at Hintersee  and the 150 bus was free as they were wearing ski clothing. They had to change to the 155 bus at Hof which is about 5 mins ride from Fuschl and this is straightforward as you just cross the road to the bus stop which goes to Hintersee via Faistenau. They don't speak any German and had no trouble using the transport. We went snow tubing in Faistenau which only operates at the weekend this time of year. There was snow on the ground in Fuschl when we arrived but it had gone within a couple of days .Fuschl has lots of  walking paths and we walked the 12kms around the lake in about 4 hours on a lovely sunny day a few days later. A trip to Salzburg on the 150 bus cost 10 euro each person return on a day ticket . We had a very enjoyable holiday and want to go back to Pension Hohenau in the summer.
