We just spent a night at this beautiful B&B. We stayed in the Forrest Room which is modern, new, spotless and beautifully furnished with wooden features created by the hosts themselves (they even do wood working workshops). Neil is a real craftsman! ‘ Set in the natural bushland it was so peaceful and private. And the bed was soooo comfortable. The made to order breakfast was delicious and there are two gorgeous and well behaved dogs you can interact with or not. Pam very kindly dropped us to our lunch venue (La Fattoria which was fantastic) and even picked us up afterwards! Great service, lovely and interesting hosts who are happy to talk to you without being intrusive. Couldn’t fault the place and will recommend to friends. Thanks Pam and Neil

Wonderfully relaxing place

My husband and I treated ourselves to a short post Christmas break in The Perth Hills. Carinyah Retreat B&B in Pickering Brook was the perfect location. Pam and Neil the proprietors were so welcoming and such interesting people. Our accommodation was located in a new extension of the property and was delightfully decorated. We even had an outdoor table and chairs for relaxation. Breakfast (freshly cooked to order) on the veranda overlooking the woodland was delicious. We certainly plan a return trip to Carinyah Retreat B&B and would highly recommend it to family and friends

A beautiful short break in the Perth Hills

This was a relaxing weekend getaway for my wife and I. We found Carinyah to be very conveniently located in Pickering Brook, in close proximity to everywhere we went, the rooms were very well appointed and the ambiance and host contact was just right for this ‘proper’ BnB. 

The layout of the property works very well - with a main lounge and kitchen as a central point and a very large verandah overlooking bushland as another meeting (and breakfast point). The setup meant that there is as much or as little interaction with other guests and the hosts (who were great). Breakfast on the verandah was excellent.

Parking was undercover and at the doorstep of the house.

The rooms are modern and look new, with everything you could want and included touches like chocolates and nice robes.

During our weekend trip we also visited the Perth Observatory, Kalamunda markets, Masonmill, The Cavern restaurant, Lion’s Lookout and Lesmurdie Falls.

Peaceful and Relaxing Retreat

We recently attended a family wedding at Masonmill Gardens and having decided to stay overnight, we found Carinyah Retreat B&B in Pickering Brook. 
We stopped at the Kalamunda Hotel first for lunch, where we had a superb meal at a very reasonable price.
When we arrived at Carinyah Retreat, Pam was so welcoming making us feel at home straight away. The location is five minutes from the wedding venue and Pam had generously offered to drive the four of us there and pick us up...brilliant! 
Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and offered everything we could need or want. Plush bath robes, loads of hanging space, iron, coffee machine, bottled water and a huge bed which guaranteed a superb nights sleep.
Breakfast was fabulous, cooked by Pam and Neil. We sat looking out to the bush, watching the native birds coming down for a drink at the many bird baths. Conversation was relaxed and both Pam & Neil made us feel like part of the family. 
We hated to leave! 
On our way home we called in to the farmers market in Kalamunda where we could buy beautiful, fresh produce. 
We can highly recommend Carinyah Retreat B&B if you’re looking for a relaxed getaway close to  Perth in the hills surrounding Kalamunda. 

MEMORABLE! 

I just came back to Singapore after a 10 day stay at Carinyah Retreat. Its well located in a very peaceful and quiet environment as close to nature as anyone could get. I was fortunate to get into a bee suit to see how bees make honey and a personal showaround/talk by John the bee keeper. My family will try out the Carinyah honey I brought back. Honey from the source!
The room was excellent, spacious and very comfortable with Fast WiFi
I throughly enjoyed the morning walks and seeing all those lovely flowers. I lost count but there were at least 30 different varieties of WA flowers. Freshest air too.
Best hospitality from Pam and Neil from breakfast to the evenings.
My 3rd time at Carinyah Retreat and look forward to more visits in future.

Excellent Place for Relaxing and even to work from.

We booked Carinyah in the Perth hills for a recent company workshop - coming from Victoria for the week I had no idea what to expect but can say I was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely bush location - great viewing from the verandah/deck, well appointed rooms - two new ones JUST opened - and in Pam and Neil, outstanding hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble. Great stay - would have been even better if we weren't working!
