Mum & I stayed here for a 3 night mother-daughter getaway. The house was perfect. We spent a lot of time on the deck as the days were very hot (35C) and there was a beautiful breeze out there. The house is very well equipped, and I appreciated having undercover parking for the car as a lot of the other houses didn’t have undercover parking. It’s just a short walk to the tavern and cafe, and we went on a walk through the Bunya Mountains National Park. We were also lucky enough to see some fireflies along Bunya Avenue. We had lots of visits from hungry cockatoos, king parrots & crimson rosellas. Unfortunately there didn’t seem to be as many wallabies as when I was there 2 years ago. 

This was my third stay at the Bunyas and previously I stayed in different houses which were also great, however I will definitely stay at Wallaby Fiesta again.

Peaceful & relaxing getaway

Bunya Mountains is a lovely place to visit and the flora & fauna were the highlight. The Accommodation Centre staff were very considerate when Virgin airlines cancelled the flight (after check in!!) and as a result we lost a night's accommodation which the Centre kindly refunded... shame Virgin isn't as interested or empathetic to its customers. At a pinch two nights is just enough to do a few of the rainforest and mountain walks but three nights (as originally planned) would have been much better.  We stayed at Godshill Studio which we really liked as it was off the road/quiet and had a nice bush outlook.  It's not very far from Godshill Lodge, so the only proviso would be if there was a big group in the Lodge it might not so quiet. We didn't bother cooking in the Studio, instead we ate at the tavern and waited/watched for the Chocolate Wattled bats to fly off at dusk. This was a trip that had been booked and then postponed because of Covid, but it was worth the wait and we hope to come back again one day.

Bunya Mountains 

Wonderful quiet place to reload your batteries. Spend time to see and feel the wonders of the nature with tree species as old at the dinosaurs.
We rented a chalet with room for 8 people and the was lots of space and cooking gear

Peace

We stayed in Far Horizons and it is spacious, spotless and well equipped.  The views are magnificent and the variety of wildlife amazing. We have come from the UK and being able to see Cockatoos, Rosellas and King Parrots was just out of this world.  We had a power cut but that was sorted out quickly once we called the out of hours number. We will be back when we next visit Australia.

Far Horizons

We stayed at Aliana- the house itself was very clean, spacious and modern.
Unfortunately there was construction of a new property just over the road so there was constant construction noise including a cement truck and beeping of trucks .
We were given no notice of this construction although we booked months in advance.
Beware if booking this property you may not have a tranquil experience.

Not so peaceful 

It was a really good accommodation place. Lodge had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, room are cleaned.  Also, it had a pool table and many more games for kids to play. Our family loved it

Alpine Lodge - Bunya Mountain

Overall a nice place. However the upstairs bedroom mattress is horrendous & feels about 30 years old. We felt every inner spring digging into us during the night & we didn’t sleep well at all. 

It’s very spacious & relaxing. 



Nice but mattresses need replacing. 

Stayed in Eden House apart from it being a bit further away from the main entrance of the Bunya mountains accommodation it unfortunately turned out to be a much older house and looks very different compared to the photos guests would see on the bookings page. The house is also not very child friendly for those with younger children as there was no guard for the fire place and the deck has no locked gate as the house is raised. We paid $180 a night and unfortunately as soon as we arrived we noticed the state of the house had not been cleaned properly and when we went to make the beds the linen that is professionally cleaned had various stains on the sheets, mattress protectors and towels. There was various stains on the ceilings and walls, kitchen items that are provided were broken, the bbq was pretty dirty. An outside small table and chairs on the deck was rusty and the outdoor wooden table which is to suit 4 people only had 3 chairs and covered in bird poo.  The security doors had no key and covered in dust and algae or mould.  Bathroom vent was covered in dust and the ceiling had stains or maybe mould?  

It was lovely to have the birds so close and enjoy the peace and quiet but I would not recommend staying in Eden, it really need lots of work done and a good clean.

The local pub is really good and delicious food but Poppy's cafe I wouldn't go back as the famous Bunya scone was very dry and tasteless. 

Only did the falls walk which was lovely but the mosquitoes were terrible and be prepared they are big.

No markets due to recent wet weather. It's a nice place overall if you just want to relax and do not much at all. We also saw fire flies which was amazing.

Highly recommend this accommodation for a family, couples, wedding guests etc.

Our group of friends (4 Couples) try and get together for a holiday every couple of years.  This property proved to be perfect for our three day getaway.

We used four of the five ensuited bedrooms, which provided us all with maximum privacy.  The kitchen was fully equipped to the point that we could make our own bread, the oven was a challenged however once we worked it out it was fine.  You will not want for any kitchen item all you need to bring is your food.  

The house has three levels with two bedrooms on level one, which has the kitchen and entry. One bedroom on level two including a sitting room with a wall mounted TV.  Two bedrooms on level three which also housed the loungeroom and fireplace where we spent most of our time.  The verandah follows the all of the levels and provides spectacular views and ambiance for the Bunya Mountains.

If you want to spend time away from the world including technology (coverage was limited) this is the place. 

The booking and collection of keys process is very easy and hassle free.

Silver Firs Chalet

We enjoyed our 4 nights at Eagles Nest. The outlook is superb and we felt very private. The house is dated and needs some TLC but we had everything we needed. Beds downstairs were OK. There is a newish very comfortable lounge and there's more kitchen equipment than I've ever seen in my life..  We didn't use the top floor at all but it looked OK for kids.
