Dan is the best! always there to lend a hand, driving us to and from the mountain, wonderful guy! Tatiana was fabulous  and very responsive and helpful.  All the staff were wonderful and compare to no other, great management.  stayed unit 10, great accommodation, newly rennovated. However sofa bed is terrible. Other than that had a wonderful time at the Stables and highly recommend it!  Restaurant had excellent food. enjoyed a game of  pool with manager.  all staff so friendly.

Fabulous Getaway!

Nice accommodation, but it was the staff who absolutely made this place. Came as a family of four (two grown ups, two kids) and the staff were fantastic. Tatiana and Louis are incredibly hard working and very can-do, getting us up and down the mountain, and doing what they can to help. Erica in the restaurant was a wonderful server, great with the kids who remembered their orders & preferences. Ben in the bar was incredibly patient and friendly with the boys, as well as making great drinks with good tunes. Last but not least, chef Brandon made incredible food , everything was delicious, fresh, and made both grown ups and kids very happy, somehow he manages to create a menu which pushes waaaay beyond what you usually get in ski resorts and delivers with consistency and friendliness. Thanks from the Macs.

Nice accommodation, but the staff are what make it 👍

Great accommodation run by friendly, professional staff.  Well situated to the ski fields and other amenities / restaurants.  Would not hesitate to recommend.  Had a little hiccup with our booking and it was sorted out efficiently and without drama.

Friendly staff and great accommodation

Disgraceful urine stained bedding. Mould build up in the shower. Dirty oven - too afraid to use it! Pull out sofa bed sink into the middle - mattress too old. Overall a tired and dirty apartment. However staff were lovely especially Trevor and Nick who went out of their way to ensure we were transported to and from the ski field. The waitress in the restaurant was amazing.

Loft Apartment # 9

We stay here when going to Perisher. The apartments are clean and modern and the staff are very good picking up from and dropping off at Ski Tube, and full of helpful information. My only concern is this year the restaurant and bar experience was a little underwhelming and maybe it’s time for a refresh; warped tables are not good for dining and the carpet looks tired and worn. The food is great. 

Nice place friendly staff 

This is the first time I've stayed in Perisher as we normally stay in Jindy and drive up the mountain. With a 5 and 6 year old this can be a drag, so we splurged in late September to stay a week on snow (and it was great value for money this late in the season compared to July when we were down last).

We loved The Stables. Our loft apartment was beautiful and well equipped kitchen made our stay great (eg the blender so I could make the kids a banana smoothy each afternoon when we got home). The hosts Sally, Peter and Josh were fantastic. Will definitely be back. 

The only slight drawback was no internet access but this was actually good for our family trip. We ended up playing Uno each night and watching the two free to air kids channels for downtime.

Awesome location for snow trip

Cannot rate The Stables high enough. Hosts Peter & Sally were really helpful. The restaurant staff just lovely!!  Apartment 5 was perfect and immaculate. 
Would definitely recommend!!   Easy walk down to Village or they provide drop off and pick up. ✅

Snow Holiday

Our experience with The Stables started amazingly. Dealing with Tess during booking was an absolute pleasure and she made everything effortless and easy. As it should be when dealing with a multiple family booking for 2 chalets for around 18k combined.

After arriving and thankfully gaining early access to our rooms, we threw on our gear to get down and make the most of the day with our young children aged 5 and 7
This is where we ran into our first problem. Obviously it has been a bad start to the season and there is simply no snow to ski in/ski out. We were rather abruptly informed there are only specific times to get a ride down the mountain and back up in the car. Now for myself and my partner not really an issue but for a 7 and 5 year old in uncomfortable ski boots this was clearly going to be an issue . Every time I asked I was met with rolling eyes from sally and told there was simply not enough staff to accommodate this. Despite this, everytime I managed to find Jon Luca he was more than accommodating of my families needs as it literally takes 5 mins in the car but ALOT of effort for little legs carrying heavy ski gear.
We found the restaurant staff lovely , the bar staff great, kids club and of course Jon Luca all so lovely and accommodating yet the manager Sally just had a huge chip on her shoulder about what was and wasn’t available.

I would have thought that given the fact there was no snow ( not any ones fault obviously but the fact that the natural elements had let us down after we had paid just over 18k, management would be out to impress not act like the smallest requests were a bother and inconvenience.

One night due to a function we were informed we couldn’t order any meals until 7.30pm. Again, with no transportation and transfers available and it was pouring rain... we had no other option to wait. Maybe if offered lift and pick up it wouldn’t have been an issue .

To really top it all off at the end, my husband had to marshall at 9am on the day of check out for a school competition and he left quite early, I asked for help getting our luggage to the the storage room and yet again was met with an eye roll and told they are not porters from Sally. I am a very polite person and have been left truly shocked at how little service was extended to us by the manager of this lodge. Once again Jon Luka  who seemed to be the driver and all round general hand kindly assisted me and I was incredibly grateful. 

As lovely as all the other staff were, we will never return to The Stables. 

We will go back to Thredbo in August ( we try and get two trips in each season) where buses run constantly and eating out options are plentiful and accessible in all whether conditions and lodge managers are happy to be be of assistance.
I strongly urge you to consider the amount of money people are paying and adjust your service mentality accordingly.

Everything was such an effort for manager Sally.

We stayed at Courtyard Loft apartment 13 which has just been recently re-furbished. Sooooo nice to stay in a stylishly decorated apartment with everything new, upmarket and comfortable. Even better is that the kitchen is fully fitted out with crockery, cutlery, utensils, sharp knives (!), wine glasses etc.. there's enough of everything so you can actually fill the dishwasher up.
Stables is so close to the valley terminal - just up the road from 'The Man from Snowy  River'.  Peter & Sally who manage the property are absolutely fabulous with anything you may need including the all-important regular  pickups at the end of the day's skiing.
The onsite restaurant is  great for a close dine out (about 10 metres door-to-door), staff really friendly and helpful .
Thoroughly recommend this property.

Fabulous Apartment 

Thank you so much to Sally and the team at The Stables Perisher! We couldn’t fault you! Very single staff member we interacted with was so friendly, so attentive and couldn’t be more helpful! We’ve spent many years skiing Perisher but never stayed on the mountain. I wasn’t sure how we were going to go with 2 children (6 and 1) but it couldn’t have been easier! With the oversnow to take us up in the afternoon and the easy walk/ski down we loved it! We stayed 3 nights, brought food up with us and when we couldn’t be bothered after a days skiing we had the restaurant bring meals to our apartment! Our studio loft was very spacious, the gas fire was lovely to come back to and a view you could stare at for hours! With the added bonus of fireworks on the Saturday night our stay was spectacular! We are now trying to book again!
