I stayed at Glenella as part or bush walking group. It is my second visit to this magnificent guest house. 

The building is simply beautiful.  So much character. Exactly what you would expect for the Blue Mountains. 

The location is walking distance to the railway station and so close to cafes.
It so quiet and relaxing and yet conveniently close to the village. 

The hosts Rowan and Margaret are just beautiful people. 

I can't wait until I come back again. 

Blue Mountains Camino Supporters

Glenella is a very comfortable, welcoming and affordable place to stay. It’s just a ten minute walk from the station and a few minutes walk to all the local cafes, restaurants and gift shops.

There is a large communal kitchen and lots of indoor and outdoor sitting areas where you can read, chat or just unwind. It is also close to many bushwalking tracks.

The rooms are very comfortable and the shared bathroom is always kept very clean - there are rooms with en-suite but I have always been more than happy to pay less and share.

An added bonus of staying at Glenella is the monthly Camino meet up - it’s a great place to share or gain information with a friendly group of people.

Perfect base for all Blue Mountain activities

Excelllent and reasonably priced guest house in central Blackheath. Rooms clean with reverse cycle A/C and en-suite. No breakfast but large communal kitchen & fridge (a little like a youth hostel but in a good way...if you were traveling solo there would be people to chat to). Friendly and hospitable owners. Heritage building with interesting & eclectic furnishings. Highly recommend!

5 star affordable guest house

Glenella was a real find. Comfortable en suite rooms and extensive lounge areas and spacious veranda. Help yourself tea and coffee, and use of extensive shared kitchen if you’re self-catering.Located right in the centre of Blackheath convenient for restaurants etc. A wonderful welcome awaits!

A real gem!

We only stayed one night on our way through the Blue Mountains but could have stayed longer
Our host Margaret was very welcoming and gave us a choice of rooms
There is no breakfast available but they do give you full use of their kitchen and fridge so you can prepare your own food
It is a great location in the town so you can walk to all the restaurants and cafes and ample parking on the road outside 


Great spot and fab location 

We missed our bus on our way to a hike jump off (Due to some roadworks and change in stops) and we chanced upon this lovely and charming place in Blackheath. Rowan was very accommodating in helping us out when we knocked on their door and asked for directions. 
Next time if we plan on staying overnight in Blackheath, I would definitely stay at their place. 
Thanks again Rowan, your directions to the shortcut from your place was very helpful in saving our hike day. We managed to get to Evan‘s lookout from your place using your map. May God bless you more!

Very accommodating

We were a walking group, and had two nights at Glenella . Host and hostess were wonderful , and we had a great time , especially after the 20 Kim walk. It’s close to blackheath shops and restaurants, and comfortable in the old ground floor rooms.

Fantastic base for Blackheath

Stayed at Glenella for 3 nights with my wife. They don’ t serve meals now but they do provide all the facilities for you to cater for yourself in the large fully equipped kitchen You can also eat out at a range of excellent places within 1 block of Glenella Whilst there we had 1 meal at the Blackheath fish & chip shop which has had a high reputation for many years and coffee at the Wattle coffee shop 3 times We also went to the hotel at Leura for a catch-up lunch with my sister all places were excellent Although we elected to have a room without en-suite our room was very clean and comfortable and the toilets and showers were clean well equipped and very convenient

Quiet friendly clean comfortable

Beautiful historic guesthouse with a range of bedrooms.  Very friendly owners and staff.  Has a great kitchen to do your own catering so suited us with a gang of 10 girlfriends.  Lovely garden outlook from the dining room.  Large log fire in the sitting room & toasty warm in all rooms although some bedrooms quite small.  Very close to town & cafes & train station & plenty of on street parking.  V peaceful & quiet

Beautiful period guesthouse B&B

Best accommodation in Blackheath. Perfect location, comfy rooms, lovely gardens, gorgeous common areas in a beautiful historic property. The highlight is the warm, welcoming hospitality of Margaret and Rowan.
