I first met Nelieta and Andrey in March, 2018. Since then, I have returned to Hostel Tinktinkie on at least 4 occasions; once I stayed for an extended period of time. Hostel Tinktinkie is my hostel of choice in the Santa Rosa de Calamuchita area. Every time, I have had the same fantastic hospitality from them. Nothing has been too much effort. The hostel has all the facilities one needs; it is also very clean. The daily breakfast is great, often supplemented with Andrey's homemade bread. A gazebo is available for guests use, as is the asado. A hammock is available where one can relax in the shade of the trees.The hostel is situated in a very quiet neighbourhood which suits me perfectly. The town of Santa Rosa de Calamuchita is easily accessible by the local bus service. There are also kioskis nearby where one can purchase basic items. The lovely river is close by where one can rest listening to the soothing sound of the water flowing by. I highly recommend Hostel Tinktinkie.

My kind of hostel

My husband and I stayed at Hostel Tinktinkie for approximately six days. The hostel is owned by a couple named Andrey and Nileta. In fact, they also stay there but upstairs in a separate apartment. The property is perfectly located in a mountain valley near a river and has two dogs that serve as protection. Nileta and Andrey are trustworthy people and have helped us with several personal matters. During the time we visited, it was cold and quiet, and we enjoyed the hammock in the front yard on our set apart day of rest. There were also some horses near by and we were delighted to hear that they could be made available for riding the next day if we asked. Unfortunately, we were unable to partake due to time, but we did have laughter and good conversation over wine and asado (BBQ) during some evenings and freshly baked bread and coffee during the mornings. We will be making Hostel Tinktinkie our choice hotel whenever we are back in Santa Rosa De Calamuchita.

Highly Recommended

Our group of 6 turned up for the Oktoberfest festival having only planned to attend the week before. We booked Tinktinkie hostel online and although the hostel itself was a bus ride away from the main attraction in Belgrano, the hospitality that we received more than made up for the short bus ride we had to take each day! We got out of the taxi to be immediately welcomed by the owners Neliete and Andrey, who helped us to settle in and gave us all the information we needed regarding the festival, local transport and things to do in the local area. Our 6 bed dorm was fantastic and very clean, with its own bathroom and shower. The main thing that made our stay so wonderful was the owners themselves. We were a group of 6 young travellers who had previously been staying predominantly in large, party orientated hostels, and it was a refreshing change to receive such a personalised service and really be welcomed into their home like we were members of the family; I would honestly put our stay at Tinktinkie up there with the best hostels we stayed at in the big cities throughout South America. The breakfast was great and cooked in their own kitchen, with the home-made break being a particular highlight, and on our final night we were prepared a fantastic BBQ dinner. I could not recommend Hostel Tinktinkie any higher if you are in the area, and it is certainly somewhere I would stay again if I were to ever be there again myself. Thank you so much!

Amazing stay during Belgrano Oktoberfest 2013!

After over a month of backpacking around South America I can say that Tinkitinkie was my favourite hostel. Set amongst beautiful surrondings this hostel offers you everything. We aimed to spend three days there and stayed for seven! Whether you choose to swing in the hammock all day and eat asados by night, travel to the nearby national park, hike to the waterfall in the nearby mountains or have a picnic at the river just minutes away from the hostel Tinki Tinkie has everything. The town has a whole range of culture and even a river flowing through the town which you can swim in! What's more the owners are amazing!  We played cards with them, cracked a afternoon beer with them and they even cooked us dinner!

The Best Hostel in Argentina

We planned on spending 4 days here, ending up staying a week. If you're passing through a lot of cities and fancy a little break from the hustle and bustle, this place is perfect! We enjoyed amazing hikes in the area including La Cumbrecita which was very easy to get to via bus on recommendation from the owners who have become friends of ours.. To get into town is a walk-able distance but bus route is also available. I cannot boast enough about this hostel, the owners, location, the home cooked food!! Me and my friend made diversions on our itinerary deliberately to visit this hostel (and that's no lie) and we could not have been happier to do so!
