Stayed here for just one night in el chalten. Very cute cottages right near to the bus station- a couple of minutes walk. They are apparently some of the oldest buildings in the town. They are very basic but have a lot of character and provide the basic facilities to self cater. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very quirky! We enjoyed our stay.

Looking back at three years of travel, I can honestly say my cabana in El Chalten was among the best bargains I had.  

I loved having an entire cabin to myself for the same price as (or cheaper than) other basic hotel rooms in this village. Since the village is so small, everything is within walking distance no matter where you are; but, I loved being so close to the bus station. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The cabin is cozy, warm, and well-equipped (with a dining table, stove, eating and cooking utensils, fridge, and a nice hot shower. It's all clean, but rustic (which I liked very much).

I had some issues (but not enough to influence my opinion of the place): I had no WiFi at all in my room and slow WiFi in the lobby. However, this is more of an issue with the *remoteness of the village* and not so much about the property itself. The bus ride from Bariloche is 24 hours, and the bus arrives in the morning (every day). So, it would be nice if the lobby opened earlier so that exhausted travelers could at least relax in the reception area, and perhaps even check in to their room if it's available. The curtains do not provide enough privacy or keep the light out; and therefore, they should be replaced.

One of my favorite hotel in three years of world travel

The location is very beatiful. Close to the city center and from the rooms you have a beautiful view of Mt. Fitz Roy. The personnel are very kind and helpfull. Its is a good place to stay if you are not so choosy.
The cabins need more care. They look old and dirty. The windows are full of dust and nobody comes to clean outside. The windows are locked, you can't open. This situation leaves the rooms very warm. All the bathroom and bed clothes are old.

Nice Place

Walking out of our cabin on the first clear day was breathtaking! You can see all the surrounding mountains of El Chalten! The included breakfast was good and the cabins were clean, if a bit chilly. It is not very centrally located in the town of El Chalten, but still within easy walking distance to restaurants, etc. and it is very close to the bus station.

These cabanas are nice and spacious enough for 5 people. The location is nice at the edge of town close to the bus terminal. In the morning you get an amazing view of the sunrise.

The gas heating is a bit dodgy, but we turned it off anyway because it was so warm during our stay. The rooms and bathrooms are reasonably clean.

A big downside is that it is right next to the towns power supply - a big diesel generator hammering away day and night.

If you are a group of people who enjoy cooking and can ignore the thumping of a diesel generator this is a nice stay.

Nice view ar the edge of town but not quiet

We spent a few days and left very pleased with the standard of the cabins, the cleanliness and the service. It is well equipped with kitchen utensils, fridge, microwave and outside grill. The bed of the main bedroom was big and very comfortable where we fit together with our baby. The place is conveniently located within walking distance from supermarkets and restaurants. The river passes by the window and Fitz Roy can be seen from some of the rooms in the background. Great price-quality ratio. Would gladly recommend it.
