If you have a layover in Hanoi I recommend this hotel which is right beside airport. Comfortable clean rooms. Very comfortable bed and fresh linen and I slept vey well. Host is delightful and very helpful. I would def stay again. Dont agree with the bad reviews posted.

We couldn't of asked for more here, it's close to the train station which we needed as we had to catch a train very early. There was a language barrier but after a bit of Google translate we soon sorted things. 
The rooms were clean and large, and had fan, a/c, shower, balcony, TV and fridge.

I recommend HN Victory hotel for airport layover

Suited us down to the ground 

We found this place after a night train from Sapa dropped us off in Hanoi. Our flight was in the early afternoon but we needed a place for luggage and to refresh from 5am until 1pm. We looked everywhere and this was the perfect place. The owner is honest and kind. The room cost only $15 for the day use. Water and beer in room is not free, but at standard cost in case you do want to have it. Breakfast isn't included but we would recommend eating elsewhere anyway.  It was perfect for a nap, luggage storage while we explored, and they booked a taxi for us to the airport for the same price we would have paid on our own.  Don't expect much from the rooms, but you don't need much in this situation.  I'd wish I could get everyone to know about this place because we ended up walking around to different  hotels to find a day use room and until we found this place everyone told us ~$50 or more dollars (crazy!).  

You walk out the back part of the trainstation and it is literally a half block away on your left hand side.

not a place to stay for a night but the perfect day hotel

I stayed here for 2 nights on a voucher I had from Agoda. When we arrived, they tried to say I had reserved 2 rooms,when the voucher said 1 room for 3 people.Then they said I had to pay,that the voucher was a reservation only. After traveling for over 24 hours, and arriving at 10PM, I paid them in cash for the rooms. This hotel was dirty, the staff was rude, and only one person spoke English. It is not in a god location, a long way from anything except the train station.This is the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel.

Dishonest Thieves

Dirty, smelly, with unfriendly staff. Stayed as part of a tour... had to be relocated to a different hotel due to horrific standards.  Live rat found under bed sheets by another couple on our trip.  Absolutely disgusting.
