We stayed at this cozy, welcoming, lodge for 4 nights while skiing. It’s an easy walk to the gondola (even in ski boots) and a block or two into quaint Telluride, restaurants, shops. The staff is helpful, accommodating to early check-in, late check-out, and so friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable.  It was fun meeting other guests in the common kitchen/lounge while enjoying a plentiful breakfast or making your own. The hot tub provided a soothing soak after a day on the slopes. We will stay here the next time!

We absolutely loved our experience at the Manitou Lodge. The proximity to the free town gondola plus town lifts is amazing and the staff at the Lodge were super friendly and helpful. We came with a number of questions and they answered them all. We also loved the breakfast. It was filling and had lots of options for everyone's needs, plus good, fresh coffee. The hot tub was hot and a good spot to relax. The rooms had extras like humidifiers to make your stay better. If you're considering this place go for it!

They have everything - book it!

The lodge itself is very cozy and warm. Has a common kitchen with a sitting area where u can relax and mingle with the rest of the people. 

Breakfast is simple but yet filling and refreshing. 

Location is superb. Next to a lovely trail along the river. And the Main Street is walking distance. 

I would go back to this lodge again for sure.

Homely even when you are away from home.

Prior to my stay here, I read reviews from all over - Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor...they made me a little skeptical and I kind of braced for the unknown. Much to my surprise & relief, it was a great place!
First of all, ignore any review complaining about responsiveness of staff or the office location. That has been remedied by an Innkeeper living onsite. Retta was amazing - she's present all day long so if you need anything you can ask her in person.
But let me start with access - yes, you have to park in a little lot and walk. But it's maybe half a block? You go over a wide bridge, turn right and follow the sidewalk directly up to the lodge. There are a couple steps but I just pulled my wheeled suitcase up and there you go! Arrived! I mean, what kind of place has everyone complaining about the distance stayed? You always have to park and walk through a parking lot, lobby, etc. to get to a room. If you want to park right outside your door, stay a a motel or an Airbnb.
Note, we arrived at 10pm when it was pretty much pitch black outside and found the lodge easily. So I am sure others can do it, especially when it is day time.
Yes, the interior of the building feels like it was built in the 70s or 80s. I mean, that's probably when it was built. But it was clean. Seriously - the shower had a glass surround which I would never use in lodging because glass just begs for soap scum issues. This? Not a spot. It was so clean - I actually asked Retta how in the world she kept it so clean and she said it was just vinegar & water...and elbow grease.
Yes, the bedding was a little tired, but it was clean.
There were nice branded robes in our closet, extra blankest, a humidifier (which always kinds of freaks me out b/c they can get notoriously gross and moldy but this was super clean), space heater, ironing board, and extra pillows.
Our room was directly across from the kitchen and lounge but we were never bothered by any noise. It actually made it feel even more homey because I could just pop out our door and over to the kitchen to grab breakfast.
There were always some sort of goodies in the kitchen area - from ham & cheese breakfast croissants, fruit, coffee, juice, snacks like trail mix in individually sealed bags, granola bars, cheese & meat boards at happy hour, chocolate chip cookies...
The little living room/lounge area had a fireplace, comfy seats, a big tv, and there were big windows and a door out to the large deck along the river. Just a few steps beyond that is the building with the hot tub.
I personally like hot tubs exposed to the elements and being right on the river, you could imagine how nice it would be to hear & see the river if the tub wasn't enclosed, but it probably helps hugely with maintenance to have it enclosed. There are windows you could open to hear the river, but we just took a quick soak & didn't mess with them.
Our room looked out onto the trail along the river so we could watch dogs go by and the view was of aspens & the surrounding mountains. We never once needed our vehicle - once we parked we left it until the day we departed.
I saw someone mentioned not being able to secure their door from the inside - we had a chain for our door and once you closed it, the only way to open from the outside would be to use the door code. But again, having an innkeeper living onsite you never felt unsafe.
The only downside I would mention is that because of the year the building was constructed, it has the usual noise issues like hearing every step in the room above you, and we hard some banging around in a room next to us but generally everyone was cognizant of trying to respect each other and not making excessive or unnecessary noise. Use a white noise app on your phone if every little sound is going to bug you.
I enjoyed my experience at the Manitou Lodge. It wasn't a swanky resort, but they don't market themselves as that. It was cozy, clean, convenient. Retta is doing a great job and I hope Alpine Lodging realizes what an asset they have in her.

Pleasantly surprised

We loved our room - very clean and great location.  We parked and didn’t need our vehicle until we left.  Yes, the room is small but still plenty of room for the 2 of us.  Short walk to gondola, downtown area and trails.  The river trail right outside is so pretty.

Great place to stay in Telluride

The location for us is unbeatable. One block to the gondola, two blocks to the market and  three blocks to Colorado Ave, where most of the shopping and dining in town are. Besides skiing we went hiking right from our room, the park is only a few blocks away, and from the park we continued on the trail by the creek, which has beautiful views and it an easy hike for basically anyone.
Our room had two balconies, as it has a loft with a bed, so the balconies are on the two levels. Views from the balconies is also outstanding, including both mountains flanking Telluride, as well as a great view of the creek.
Our host, Frank, made us feel right at home, he always had freshly baked cookies or scones, and he helped with anything we needed right away.
We will definitely go back to Manitou Lodge next tmie we visit Telluride, Definitely recommended place.

Fantastic location, views, and service

From the first call to reserve the room, including a room change, the staff at Alpine Lodging Telluride took care to make sure we were happy with everything. Lisa and Liza were on the spot with monitoring our progress! Even a call as we were coming into town, during a snowstorm was a nice touch. Accommodations were clean, beautiful, scenic easy to access. Would recommend them highly...great trip/great snow and lots of laughs

Family and Friends and Snowboarding 

Really loved our time at the Manitou Lodge.  Great location allows you to walk everywhere in town.  Parking was a little bit of a hassle but that's a Telluride issue.  Room was small but worked for 2 adults and 2 kids.  The common kitchen area and outside patio was a nice touch.  The hot tub was also great and was put to good use.   Lodging prices in Telluride are insane, this was a great value.

Great location, great time

Our unit at Manitou Lodge was everything we needed for our stay.  Unit was on the smaller size but had everything we needed.  Bed was very comfortable, had small balcony, fridge, shower was large for size of unit and unit was very clean.  Remote check in was fantastic and the common area included a kitchen area with everything you would need to prepare a simple meal.  Hot tub  was open and clean.  Location of the lodge was perfect and parking was not a problem at all.  If you are in town to enjoy the area and not sit in your room the entire time this will work as an economical option.

Great find for the $$

This was a big apartment for just two of us for an excellent price for Telluride! In addition, there was a common area where we could enjoy a glass of wine with our friends. Being late in the season, we were not expecring breakfast, but to our surprize, we had a wonderful breakfast served the next morning! The location is on the San Miguel river and close to Gondola and grocery shop. We could not use the hot tub as it is outside and there was snow on the poarch. Wish there was another way to get there.  The furnishings seem to be dated but in good shape. We were concerned that there was no staff on duty at the lodge but we were provided with excellent instructions to get to our apartment.
