This is a clean and safe nostalgic motel not far from the historic district. The coffee, espresso, and latte machine is an added plus. I appreciate being able to park right outside the room. Other reviews mention the noise level, and while it is on a busy highway, the suppled white noise machine and air conditioning sounds drown out any noise and lull you to sleep. Even though there is no office staff, you will receive continuous communication via text from the manager who seems open to getting anything you need.

Old school charm

wonderful boutique motel with a good location, only a 20 min walk to St Gorge street. We had a pool side room (114), at the right time of the season (summer) you are all by yourself. We had afternoon, late evening and morning dips in the pool with no one around. Can highly recommend The local.

Cozy Floridian atmosphere

Very peaceful and convenient the coffee bar with cappuccinos coffee lattes and tea was a highlight. The pool area was very nice and the location is within walking distance to so many things. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

We loved staying here. Good location to so many activities in the St. AUGUSTINE area. Everything from the reservation, check in and check out process was virtual and super easy. The hotel room  and other amenities were clean and readily available. The vibe of the Hotel was so cute. We will definitely stay again if ever in the area. Thanks

St. AUGUSTINE beach trip

Absolutely amazing place to stay to enjoy beautiful St Augustine FL. The room was absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean with a very nice smell that stayed the whole time we were there. The pool area was great and we utilized it daily. The hotel is centrally located to just about anything you would want to do or see. The hostesses were very helpful and accommodating and we will definitely be back.
FYI, everything is taken care of electronically, so if you upload the Virdee app before arrival and do everything the hostess ask you to do before your stay you should have no problem with accessing your room, the pool, or the coffee/beverage area.

Romantic quick getaway

Interesting non-cookie cutter motel.  The pros are: Clean, location, price, and uniqueness.  The cons: small room size, thin walls, and contactless.  The last item was the biggest negative.  I'm not a fan of doing everything through an app.  I would like to have someone at the desk.  I'm a boomer.  

It's OK, but I wouldn't stay again.

Goodness where do I start. Everything was amazing!! We had the room right in front of the pool which was awesome. The room, bed and pillows are wonderful. We met Leila who is Absolutely 💯 The Best we have ever met. We are going back in Oct. I could keep going but dont have enough room lol. If your not staying at The Local you are missing out. Best Coffee ever my husband said he was going to miss the coffee. Housekeeping is wonderful our room was Amazing Cleaned felt like home.

Simply Amazing All Around

Absolutely great place to stay!  On top of being spotless the location is wonderful.  Love the pool and backyard area.  This is the first type we have stayed at a hotel that is contactless check in/out and we did not have any problems.  Love the whole vibe of the hotel.  Don't hesitate to stay at this gem!

This place by far is the best place in all the land as far as the St. Augustine location that we were visiting. Excellent location and very beautifully decorated. Simplified yet elegant . Highly recommend!☺️

Awesome

Our first annual nana/ mom/ daughter vacation was a success. We loved our room, the pool, and the location. I loved the Barbie feel of the decor! 
 Leila was so prompt in responding to requests and advising on check in procedures. Close to beach and Downtown.  Thank you!
